Maria’s on the hill
she was all “side of her eyes”
a five-dollar wine as a blanket inside
lay up the pages on a traveling bed
watch the Blood of Christ Mountains, oh they all turn red

howl at the half moon, radio queen
she’s all smoke, she’s all nicotine
the songs in my pocket just crumble apart
won’t you sing me something for the dark

Maria’s got wings, she’s got legs for the sea
a captain’s coat and a note for me
wake up Marie, before the season turns
set your dash for the coast, watch the Sangres burn

howl at the half moon, radio queen
she’s all smoke, she’s all nicotine
the songs in my pocket just crumble apart
won’t you sing me something for the dark, dark, dark

So wonderfully a darkly Ron Sexsmith!
One of the latest and greatest artists called to create and celebrate BEING HERE, in Boulder, and I feel lucky and glad to have him around. He's active in the local community festivals and music, and his presence and songwriting are a blessing in challenging times.
Owe you another one Bill!

I heard him on RP and then saw he was coming to my area so I bought some tickets for the wife and I. We enjoyed the opening act then he came out and his voice just projected so loud and forceful. It really just blew us away. He's is my wife's favorite. We flew up to Portland Oredgon and saw him there as well. Excellent, it you have a chance see him live.

Favorite, ditto. We drove 2 days to see him in Portland with the symphony. The crowd was hooting and hollering in delight. It tickles me thinking how unique that must'v been for the symphony to experience.

I think this might be a little bit difficult right now. But at some point 2022 will come!)
The intro to this song is lifted straight from Alexi Murdoch's "Orange Sky," another song introduced to me by RP. I suppose I shouldn't be too critical; you can't expect these fedora-wearing, boot-shod, can't-play-a-guitar-without-a-capo type of musicians to know many chords.

Another beautiful song and video from this album:

Wow comments with 80 and 90 likes!

RP fanbase going strong :)
Isakov is the best!
Nice song for a Thursday morning
I also thank RP for introducing me to GAI.

He's an interesting guy - seems quite self-propelled. Both he and the leader of Cloud Cult are farmers as well as musicians.

I didn't know Greg had a new album. I will have to investigate.
First. Sounds so nice.
