My boy is a lead healthcare policy analyst for a company that Trump is gutting left and right, and he’s lost many colleagues so far and doesn’t know if his job is secure (with its insurance coverage).

I can’t make any of it better, but when I hugged him hello he broke down and started weeping.

Fuck Donald Trump and his selfish, chaotic, nation ruining approach to destroying the lives of the people he is supposed to be helping.

Getting ready to go watch the jackbooted thugs all dressed in black with red insignia, goose stepping down Pennsylvania Ave to the Supreme Deva.

I told you in December they were going to be goose stepping down Pennsylvania Ave. I was just off by 5 months.

Drying out after bailing a bit early from the No Kings March.

My anecdotal observation is that this march was even larger than the Women's March in '17, which would make it the largest protest march in state history.

How about Capitol Buildings? Especially when Capitol Police are threatened with violence?

Well, let’s look at the facts:
1) The Mayor and Governor both said that the actual protestors are nonviolent and not a problem.
2) Every protest - even the one that wanted to hang the Vice President because he wouldn't violate the Constitution - has miscreants in it that aren't in it for the ideology, just because they like to feel strong by causing mischief. In this case, they had it under control - until
3) the draft dodger Trump decided to send our sons in to fight against their own friends and neighbors. And then you've got a problem. Or you should have, if you're an American. What kind of leader sends troops in to shoot his own citizens because they're protesting? HINT - read up on Tiananmen Square...or Kent State

Mounted two large metal panels in the stairwell that’ll hold brackets for my tools. Even the Better Half™ said it looked good.

Let's give Trump credit for closing the border.  Beyond that, what good has he done?  DOGE is a failed joke.  The war he was going to end on day 1 rages on. The US and global economies are unsettled and inflation is higher. The only legislation in process right now lowers taxes on the rich and increases the deficit $4Trillion.

This example, of people losing everything including insurance for their kids is mind-numbingly stupid, because it's unnecessary.

Trump still has a 46% approval rating (up 2 points in May?).  WTF are people supporting?

sad to here the news. Yep, I know exactly the feeling. Those first days were really heady. I frequently stayed up waaaaay too late because the repartee was just so damn entertaining. Cathy was one of the best. A real pillar of the RP community. I have vague memories of her swimming in a chocolate fountain at one stage. Condolences to Mike and all who knew her personally.
