When I was young I could run you into the ground, but because of the past 2 years of not going out much and doing very little has contributed to my muscle loss. When I was young I would bike everywhere, play hockey for hours on end or play basketball from early morning to when the sun went down. I could flex my thigh muscles and split my jeans too.
Guess thatâs why my knees are now getting kind of wonky.
So pulled my mower out and rebuilt the carb to try and get it to run. Ran good enough to get the overgrown lawn cut. Only problem is that I need to get my legs rebuilt.
I was beat and had to sit 3 times, which was surprising since I normally can cut my small lawn in one shot. Getting old sucks!
Getting old is the best. You just have to learn how to adjust to it. It's not youth, but you've already done that.

I've put off the new knees but they're in my future I guess. Not much to be done for the crooked 'ol fangers...
When or if you go for knees... ask for Zimmer Persona. Zimmer knows the knees. And they are built with the best and latest tech in the plastic insert that should last over 30 years or more. Doctors will never tell you what knee they use. Usually it's the one they can get the most profit/ freebies (payola) off of. Don't go for the gimmicks either. All this hype out there in the last few years about computer measurement/ satellite technology is a big gimmick. Those systems use a old Stryker knee, that Syryker has moved on since about 4 new revisions past. When I went in for surgery, the Zimmer rep already knew what size he needed to bring by just looking at me. And he brought 4 sizes each way just in case he was a little off.

Speaking of whining for a dollar, electrical socket and switch swappage. Many severals of them. 12ga wire. Hands disapprove and aren't shy about it. It's not hard sans Uncle Arthur and pays well but yikes! Slow me down easy. Need ice!
My hands, shoulders, back. The new knees work great. Shoulders are next... going to wait as long as I can on those. Aleve... one taken about every 3-4 days really help me.

Woke up way too early to the racket of Franky horking in close proximity.
Couldn't get back to sleep so I just hid under covers until the alarm went off.
I got up and as usual I was sopping wet with night sweats. I took one step and
my foot landing right splat in Frank's nasty hairball. After breakfast, Panic attack,
extra meds, didn't get anything done except the puzzles. Maybe I'll might get an
hour of weed whacking done this evening. Tomorrow I have to get a CT scan
on my chest so I'm trying not to think about having to leave the house for an
all day trip in an unregistered vehicle.

Yesterday actually ...
A lady came in to pick up her glasses and her last name jumped at me. So I asked her if she was related to ... who was my 4th and 5th grade teacher in Berkeley way back when in 1961 and 1962. She said yes, the ...'s we're all related. She was a wonderful teacher who won a Gold medal in swimming in the Sydney Olympics back in the 50's. She would wear it in as a necklace once in awhile. Over the years I googled her wondering whatever happened to her and never found her name mentioned on any of the teams which I found to be odd.
The lady did confirm my recollections and mentioned that she was one of three sisters two of which were excellent swimmers, obviously. I even correctly remembered her first name. One had passed. We spoke more at length about about how the family moved from London as part of the WW II brain drain as she put it to Seattle where her husband worked at Boeing. They were very a private family and that would explain not finding her listed on the teams.
But another episode of it's a small world and how so many things from Berkeley have intersected my life here in Cleveburg decades later. Another major being that my oncologist was born in the same hospital in Berkeley. Alta Bates, which once upon a time was a top rate place. Now, barely decent from what I have come to find out.
A good story.
I can't believe how many people I run into that were born in the same hospital I was born in.
One was even there when I was. She was born the day before. Back in the day when you HAD to stay in the hospital for a few days after you were born.
Good ol' Catholic hospital... St. Joseph's in Orange, California.

Took the mrs out for the day. Let her chose where , bit of a special day. Been a week since her endovascular intervention on a life threatening brain aneurysm. 'All good' says the medic , not been a pleasant few months in the lead up since discovery for both of us. She must be on the mend, as even the dogs got the go ahead to get out with us too.
