How to turn that annoying thing off so I don't have to be annoyed by it anymore unless I turn it back on, which would be annoying.

It wasn't that bad. Its a small storage area that I am finishing in my attic and there were only two mostly full sheets to fasten to the ceiling. I had the help of my wife to lift and position, and I had nailed a 5/4 furring strip on one end the room to supprt one end of the sheet. I had also made T support to help prop it up once we had the sheet in position. Still, these muscles are usually on vacation.
Cool. Not so bad, just two sheets. Still a workout... c.

I learned awhile back that sheetrocking is usually not worth doing yourself. A decent crew can do a whole house in one day, taped and floated.

The same with the White Album. Rubber Soul has nothing like that. I can listen to it from beginning to end, or on shuffle, without skipping and it has the same effect. And I can listen to it over and over again.
I'm having the same experience with Quadrophenia, although it works much better in order from beginning to end. While Tommy is a great achievement and definitely ambitious, and Who's Next is a great collection of songs, Quadrophenia sounds like the entire band is at their peak. Moon never sounded bettter, and Townsend makes me want to pick up a guitar (although lack of playing ability makes me put it down immediately :) ). Definitely inspiring.

woozurbuddy wrote:Wow! I bought Quadrophenia the day it hit the stores in late 73 and have listened to it a billion times. For me, a hardcore Who fan, it eclipsed Tommy in the end. Brilliant indeed! What fun for you to be discovering it and enjoying it now....proof that it is a timeless piece of art. Interesting that your favorite albums have been Rubber Soul and The White Album. My favorite has always been Revolver, although Rubber Soul has been a close second. I've always considered them a set, with Rubber Soul hinting of the amazing changes to come in Revolver. Probably the same as myself. The Who got so much radio play when I was growing up that, aside from "Tommy" I never even had a Who album until I was almost 30.
'Just never got around to it.

Well, ok maybe it wasn't TODAY but recently....
I learned that my favorite album may not be Rubber Soul or the White Album, as previously thought. Nor is it Wilco's Being There, which was always a close second on any list I made. No, recently I heard Quadrophenia for the first time from beginning to end and I've been listening to it non-stop for the past week or so.
How did I deny myself the brilliance of this piece of work for so long?

Kosher Coke can be made with beet sugar or cane sugar. you really don't know which you're getting. but either way, it's much better than corn syrup. for real cane sugar, try getting Coke from your local Mexican restaurant. it's imported from mexico and comes in 10 oz. bottles. check the label.
also, Pepsi makes two new products with cane sugar- Pepsi Natural and Pepsi Throwback. Natural is available now, not sure if Throwback out yet.
Where were you talking about it? I apparently missed that whole conversation. I very rarely drink Coke so I won't go looking for it at a Mexican grocery store. If my grocery store has it next time I go shopping, I may pick up a bottle for the heck of it but I usually drink diet soda.

I drink soda VERY rarely but I can attest to the superior taste of Coke in a bottle from Mexico. That's all Los Tres Amigos serves in their restaurant. Trader Joe's has quite a collection of cane sugar sweetened sodas. Theresa says they're pretty good.
