I thought I would drop in here to see if anyone had come to their senses yet and maybe, as polling would suggest, there may be some expressions of buyers remorse about Sleepy Joe...but nope - same old same old.

If you thought America was the laughing stock of the world under Trump (which it wasn't), rest assured you are now, except... everyone who would be laughing their asses off at the moment isn't because the creation of a well armed terrorist super-state is a serious mess that will need to be cleaned up by others for the sake of their own safety.

Well done, folks.
If this is "America is back", mmmmmyeh........we would rather you didn't bother?
We'd rather you stayed away.
It's safer for the rest of the world.

Thanks for nothing...

I'd suggest you ought to be ashamed of yourselves, especially if you voted for him more than once - but that dog won't hunt here either.

I do not see the idiocy exhibited by the Biden administration in Afghanistan having anything to do with what happened last January in Washington DC. Socialism says that the people do not know better for themselves than the government does. That is what the Dem.'s are doing and saying to us all. The majority does not matter, they know what is best for us even if we do not. Afghanistan is a breeding ground for Islamic extreme terrorists. When the Russians left Afghanistan we left as well. That was our mistake then and our mistake again now. We need to fight them over there and not over here, which is where they will be coming next.

Everyone knows that Joe Biden does not have the mental capacity to call the shots. He is being told what to do like a puppet by puppeteers. His actions in Afghanistan are criminal and he needs to resign immediately along with the secretary of defense and secretary of state. Our troops need to stay there until every American is accounted for and evacuated. What an idiot!

IMO, only simple childlike minds would think that Syria and Afghanistan are even close to the same situations.

Please cite the quote from the FBI official that said it was not an insurrection.

Let me make this clear for you. Trump instigated an insurrection (based on a lie that the election was stolen from him) that he hoped would interfere with Congress’ certification of Joe Biden’s victory. Nothing could be clearer than that and the only lunacy being demonstrated is by your ignorant blind allegiance to a twice impeached liar. You gobble up the lies of the great orange orb like a small baby bird… always needy and always hungry for more.

A little elaboration. There was a huge intelligence failure that exacerbated what followed. The Biden administration was taken by surprise at how quickly the Taliban were able to take over the country, including Kabul. It was surprised that the Afghanistan armed forces, in many instances, essentially surrendered. It was surprised even though it has been reported that the Taliban had been negotiating terms of surrender with local officials and leaders for weeks, if not months. Because of this intelligence failure, the Biden administration thought it had time for a relatively orderly withdrawal that it did not have. The die was cast.

Given that it was now stuck between a rock and a hard place (and not to excuse it), the administration executed relatively well. I have heard a retired general a couple times now say that this kind of evacuation  (non-combatant evacuation operation) is among the toughest military operations, if not the toughest, because planning simply cannot be done with anything remotely close to military precision. Inherently, he said, it is going to be chaotic. He said that it was ‘remarkable” that the US and its allies have been able to evacuate close to 100,000 people.

The ISIS attack would have been near impossible to foreclose — short of ending the evacuation mission. There were throngs of Afghans and others hanging around the gates, desperate to get out of the country. The US military had to man those gates. The situation was ripe for the kind of attack that occurred. The Biden administration knew that it was operating under this peril, but was determined to continue the mission until August 31. In fact, many, including allies, were critical of the US withdrawing by even that date if the evacuations were not completed.

A blunder and then a mess that was made messier because of that blunder.
