So why is Joe going to jail (as you said)...old age and a poor choice of running mate? I see that Donnie is taking "crooked" away from Hillary and giving it to Joe. No details required for him, so I assume you're following suit.
If Trump is the nominee, Kamala Harris could wheel Joe around trick-or-treating for Halloween 2024 and he still wins. Do you really want to engage on a "decline happens really fast" path with your 78 year old (on election day) alternative? It's not really much of an alternative.
If the Republicans can find their way out of the cult, a guy like Sununu highlights age with a real alternative... not another 80-year-old. DeSantis is making himself un-electable quickly. How does the "pro business party" support a guy who legally attacks the largest employer in the state? If he can wiggle out of the primaries, he can't win nationally, and will drag the party off the cliff with his 6 week abortion ban.
