Yeah, laugh.  I'll laugh at you trying to equate the shooting of a robber with a toy gun as being just as unarmed as the actually unarmed protester shot on January 6.

"How that could possibly happen ?  How could anyone be that irresponsible ?"  Joe Biden, September 16, 2022 on 60 minutes regarding Trump and his possession of classified documents.

Once again, a democrat is guilty of what they accuse others of doing.  This is the hallmark of the democratic party.  Has been forever.

So we find out that the second stash of classified documents found were at his home in Wilmington locked up in the same garage as his precious Vette.

Boy I sure feel better knowing that.

The question no one is asking is what was he doing with these documents as VP that allowed him to remove them and put them into his own possession in the first place.

And to claim he didn't know he had them.  Maybe now that he is essentially brain dead, but back then he seemed to still have all his mental faculties in good working order and knew exactly what he was doing.

.

And now we have a second stash at a second location ?  Yeah.  He's like a squirrel that buried his nuts and forgot where they were.  Remembering that he said he was "surprised" about the first discovery ...

Regarding the first batch, from what I understand the protocol for processing is it goes to the Librarian at the National Archives who then in turn is to immediately inform the Chairman and Ranking Member of the two Oversight Committees before anyone else.  From what I can gather this did not happen, at all.  For sure not before the midterm election.  The Librarian is in deep in the democratic party.  Uh huh ...

The CCP sponsored his little think tank where the first batch was found.  Some of the files are supposed to be about Ukraine.

Yup, nothing to see.  Just ...

One further question that has occurred to me in the light of all of this.

Are there back up copies of these actual files somewhere ?  Or are there only one copy ?

So if someone has it then no one else will know what is in it or if it is even missing ?

A POTUS can, but a VPOTUS cannot.  Biden was just a VP then.

He committed a crime, no bout adoubt it.

Now Obama could save his ass and say that he declassified them for Biden.

Regardless, he will walk.  He is too well protected by the powers that be.

Biden had a security clearance as VP so was almost certainly in legal possession of the classified materials. He or his staff may well of mismanaged the stuff and deserve a wrist-slap for that. Afterwards he was sworn in as president and has a security clearance. He was president when they were found so it was still legal to have the materials, unlike a certain ex-president who lied and tried to cover up that he stole them when he left office.

In any case Biden's staff did exactly the right thing when they were discovered. They secured the materials and called the archives to collect them. A world of difference from trump but you will never admit that.

You forgot an important part.  This was discovered a week before the elections, and kept secret.  Kinda like the laptop was called fake to protect the outcome of the 2020 election.  Well here we go again.  A cover up, to save an election.  Again.

I didn't see anywhere in that article stating that these documents were discovered before the 2020 election, other than Jim Jordan saying that they were.  The article states they were found Nov. 2, 2022.  Maybe Jordan is privy to other information, or was referring to the 2022 elections.

I haven't heard anything about what Jordan has said regarding this.  I was referring to the 2022 election.  Hence the use of Again as in a second election, the 2022 election.

My bad for not being  perfectly clear.

More broadly, what apparently is being ignored here is that simple possession of these documents is a crime in itself, because Biden as VP at the time of possession, never had the authority to possess them in the first place.  Trump as POTUS has a different ability as he was able to possess and declassify documents on his own authority.

And why did Biden send a team of attorneys to clean up his closet and not a professional bonded moving company ?   Seems unnecessary and inappropriate for just cleaning out a closet.  But that's just me, evidently.

From CBS, and I don't see where you can contend that a coverup occurred. Again, this just isn't the same -

The material was identified by personal attorneys for Mr. Biden on Nov. 2, just before the midterm elections, Richard Sauber, special counsel to the president confirmed. The documents were discovered when Mr. Biden's personal attorneys "were packing files housed in a locked closet to prepare to vacate office space at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C.," Sauber said in a statement to CBS News. The documents were contained in a folder that was in a box with other unclassified papers, the sources said. The sources revealed neither what the documents contain nor their level of classification. A source familiar with the matter told CBS News the documents did not contain nuclear secrets.

Sauber also said that on the same day the material was discovered, Nov. 2, the White House counsel's office notified the National Archives, which took possession of the materials the following morning.

"The discovery of these documents was made by the President's attorneys," Sauber said. "The documents were not the subject of any previous request or inquiry by the Archives. Since that discovery, the President's personal attorneys have cooperated with the Archives and the Department of Justice in a process to ensure that any Obama-Biden Administration records are appropriately in the possession of the Archives."

There is no equivalency here, just tinder for more GOP frothing to try to hide their problems (see also "Hillary drinks the blood of children" and "Hussein Obama's not born in the US" and "Hunter's laptop" and so on).

There are real problems out there, but every time  something like this gets brought up as something significant it's just a reminder that the GOP is the obstruction, the party of No.

I don't disagree this is different, in that the docs were turned over...but there is the timing/disclosure issue that Kurtster points out...though not sure why it was delayed until now?
And let us not forget the Russian investigations, where the democrats and most of the media convicted a sitting president well before it was found that there was no real collusion.
Neither party has much to hang their hat on.
