Ahh! I was going to post a suggestion to Bill & Rebecca to sometimes play a couple of tunes from an artist in a row—it often flows so well. Now I know why this is never done....Ahh, the laws we must live by.

The rule still stands. I consider certain extended stretches of music (like the 4 sides of Quadrophenia, both sides of Dark Side Of The Moon, side 2 of Abbey Road, etc) to be single works, rather than collections of individual songs. My criteria are that the songs must flow smoothly together without gaps, and must be thematically connected. This is just *my* interpretation. No such exceptions are written into the law. But I'll bet I could successfully defend my interpretation if I was challenged on it (which is doubtful). In the instances I have cited the individual songs are more like the movements of a symphony than independent compositions. They *can* be played alone, but make thye most sense in the larger context.
