Oh please. If only they actually taught us anything useful.  I can draw you the chemical structures and reaction of what happens when you cook with vinegar in an aluminum pot, or how glutamate gets converted to succinate.  Wow, that's really practical knowledge there, innit?  I use it every day!  Not.  Who cares where the electrons go??    (Apologies to real chemists, I'm just being a smart-ass.  Your knowlege is valuable.  I really mean that)
