Happy endings to romantic movies... cry for happy.

Thank you all for your thoughts and hugs. Though this is way too early for one of my older brothers (there's six of us, 3 boys and 3 girls) to be leaving us, he's had a good life up to this point. A very happy marriage and he has raised 4 beautiful daughters and helped put them all through college. Three of them are now married to three great guys and two of them have children, so he's also a grandfather of four. It just sucks that you work so hard all these years to support and see your family grow, and then you get close to your retirement years and you can't even sit back and enjoy your twilight time. He's only 58 years old.

I'm sorry that is intense.

have you tried this guy, I know someones who's mother had the same prognosis, or maybe worse, and he turned it around.   I have heard of him before and his success, but I have known someone personally now.

Finding out that my brother may only have 6 months to a year left to live. The dreaded pancreatic cancer.

Wow, R-man......we are in the same boat, you and I. My brother is 59, and has probably the same amount of time left on earth, do to Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), comparable to ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He is still able to move with a walker, but not for long. And he too was diagnosed just after his retirement, when he was finally able to spend time with his little boy (7 yrs old, had him later in life)

I've given up looking for the sense of fairness and we're all just savoring every day that he is still with us.

Very sorry to hear this, but take heart. My sister-in-law battled and beat PC in the 90's. Her weakened body eventually succumbed from other causes, but we had her around a lot longer than the doctors originally predicted.
