Got a batch of Turkey Hill Vanilla ice cream, but this one looks like it was filled right after a flavor switch. It has just a slight hint of brown swirl and a very light chocolate flavor mixed in. It's awesome! Sort of a bummer as this is probably a one of a kind, but I have it and I'm going to love it all!
Groundhog Day reminded me to check to see when Ash Wednesday is this year I'm not in with any religion but Wendy's comes out with their cod sammy (it's real good) this time of year I see that it's March 1, that's a long wait but I looked it up and wowie-zowie Capt Ahab, Wendy's is bring it back tomorrow!!!!!
We've talked to the kids about the fact that I'm not working right now & our budget is much tighter. He participates in research studies at the Center for Autism Research and he got paid $100 for the last one he did. Tonight he said, "Mom, you can have my $100 since we don't have much money."
He's the sweetest kid in the world. We told him how great he is but that he can keep his $100. We'll be okay.
(okay-so I don't feel horribly guilty I have to mention how precious his little sister Lily is too. )
Indeed. Even better when you can make a few bucks for it.
Also, re-purposing something that's broken. I got a couple dead hair dryers from a barber shop, they were OLD. Had to be 70s or so: all chrome, from Japan. One was fixable, but the heating element in the other one had fallen apart. But it was too cool and vintage not to do something with it. I gutted the insides and turned it into a lamp, with a 12V auto bulb in the 'blowing' end, and an array of red LEDs to glow out the back. A wall wart powers it, and the original switch works: either light only, or light and 'heat'.
You should have seen the barber when I brought his dryers back! Of course he was happy to have the old one fixed, but the lamp was a HUGE hit! I wasn't planning to charge him for the conversion, but he paid me for it over my (mild) protest.
Very cool ! ..that is a lamp I would like to have !
