After getting put on hold with a recording the other day when I called 911, getting a follow up call from a politician as a result of my rabble rousing.

 Apparently, due to it's proximity to DC, my counties 911 emergency response system is now controlled by Homeland Security! !

    Hmm, can't imagine how the Feds could fuck up something as simple as answering a phone. Probably 20 or 30  120K annual salary  employees were on that one.

 Oh wait. Maybe this shouldn't be in the Happy thread.

 Never mind.

Is it possible that no one here has had something to make them happy since since Aug. 2010 and it took BDB's bacon to break the unhappy streak???

It makes me happy that someone's finally happy.  Bacon to the rescue (and BDH too of course).

My sister, the film maker in Hawaii, just sent a package of DVDs for everyone in the family - a tribute to our departed brother, that is a showcasing of snippets of his post cards and letters, along with all the stunning photography he shot of national parks and Tibet and all the places he traveled. Boy did it bring back memories.......but oh did it pull the heartstrings, too. It made me miss the version of him that wasn't sick and debilitated more than ever.
