Mac, yes. Javascript yes, Java no. I may just do some basic maintenance but I'm going to swap out the hard drive for a SSD soon and do some major housecleaning then; maybe I'll just put up with it. If I want to watch stupid videos I can just launch Safari or FF. I was just tonight getting a general Website Not Found error... for Google. Google cal wouldn't load even where it was embedded... anyway relaunching Chrome fixed that. I'm sure it's something like that. I'll work on it tomorrow.

I've been using chrome pretty much exclusively for quite a while now and that's a new one on me. Perhaps you should PM oldbuzzard He is a monkey you know.

Right, and I get that warning on most pages: that I need to update Flash. Problem is, it's not updateable in Google Chrome for Mac on my computer because my computer is running an older OS and Chrome stopped providing compatible updates for this OS. - I have OSX 10.5.8
- Chrome doesn't support 10.5.x anymore
- Chrome has Flash built in, it's not a plug-in or extension like it is on other browsers
- Once they released an update to Flash, I get a warning that Flash needs to be updated (Run This Time) or (Update This Plugin) but of course there's no plugin to update. If I click to update, it tells me Flash is built into my browser and it must be disabled so check the preferences. It's not disabled. That's all I can do. No way to tell it to ignore warnings etc.
I guess I can download the "Chromium" browser which is the same? Different? I dunno.

Guess I'll go to Safari or something because we're not upgrading OS in the foreseeable future. Dang.

Interesting, maybe that's why my flash keeps crashing

After a recent update I've noticed that the cursor doesn't always change into a "finger" over links. No big deal. I've also noticed that pages scroll to the top when I select and try to copy text. Also, I cannot paste into a form plus replace selected text in the form. Again, no big deal, but frustrating as heck.

You want to trust this government,go right ahead. I would never trust the government. But I don't think my browsing history is going to be very interesting to them. Now if I was into pedophilia or bomb making, I'd probably be concerned. I don't think we should make things easier on those who are.

I think collecting user browsing information is useful in developing better search engines. I don't know what the hang-up on browsing security is. I guess it has something to do with people who are ashamed of what they are doing online. In a way this is kind of funny.
