Yeah, kinda, that and we couldn't catch a "brake" (pun). Was the idea behind the name.
But the announcer introduced us as "Bad Brakes" which was fine by us.

Covered Neil Young's Motorcycle Mama last night at an open mic with a couple of talented guys named guess what? That's it; you guessed it. Bryan.
Mostly you find Brians out there but there's the occasional Bryan. Not sure of the ratio but its lopsided for sure, kind of like Red_Dragons head- lopsided. Anyhow to have three Bryans together in one place is pretty rare so we cooked up a trio and called ourselves The Three Ys Men. What a blast it is getting old.
So first record is what, Word To The Wise or Whys? I can't decide...

Awsome. The one time I was ever on stage was with my old garage band called bad brakes. We didn't have any equipment but this other band did and when their bass player electrocuted himself somehow they couldn't do their gig in a pub. So all their equipment was set up and we filled in for them. We had about a dozen cover songs. I was so frikkin nrevoud my legs were all blubbery. We did Sweet Home Alabama and I was supposed to sing harmony on the chorus but I froze. The lead singer was pissed at me afterwards. And he wasn't a bloke you wanted pissed at you. I saw him headbutt a friend of our  just for asking for some money he owed him. Tough guy from a tough part of town but a hell of a good singer. One thing we did that was kind of cool and got a smattering of applause was the popeye theme song. We learned it just for laughs. It was a fun night. The place was going out of business and we showed up there a few days later and it was abandoned. But there was a bunch of booze left over behind the bar so we sat around and drank it then took as much as we could carry home with us.  One other time I was on stage was a catastrophe. I was working the door at my mom and pops bar in South Haven, Mi.  As usual I was drunk as hell. I asked the house band if I could sit in on a number I knew well - on bass. But for some reason. I played it in a completely wrong key. I was too enebriated to even hear myself. I guess only the band noticed. But I did remember it next day and felt like an idiot - still do. We had a good band and of he had some equipment we could have done some things. It was right when all the well known Irish bands were just starting to play small gigs around town. We could have come up with them. We knew a lot of the lads. The guys who went around in his pajamas all the time was a friend of ours.

lol. You said 'enebriated'

cool, so who's fronting the y's?

Some guys named Bryans. Triple threat lol. We all sing. Took me a long time to be able to get on a stage and sing and play for an audience lol. Sometimes when I'm playing harmonica I still close my eyes but its because I'm in a dream in that moment...{#Wink}
