There was a question?

A most peculiar/particular meaning to be sure. I guess that would also mean that when Americans attend international sport events some of them chant for their government, while the athletes compete with their government on their outfits.

No gods, no masters is an anarchist and labour slogan. Its English origin comes from a pamphlet handed out by the Industrial Workers of the World during the 1912 Lawrence Textile Strike. The phrase is derived from the French slogan "Ni dieu ni maître!" Obviously, though probably not to you, China's ideology certainly can't be all of those at the same time, in addition to being capitalist (private ownership of production) to some degree.

You sound very confused, and all because of a tag line.

You are the crowd favorite here as nearly everyone here let's you slide on everything.  Only Beaker and I have bothered to over the years, but neither of us are crowd favorites.  You echo what the majority wishes to hear.  RP is only a plaything for you.  That is why you mostly copy and paste and avoid actual interaction as much as possible.  You can deflect any attempt to call you what you post with this technique.  You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all the people all of the time.  You're just here to feed everyone your "cake" as in let them ...

And to return to one of your favourite subjects, the "free market" (how free is it really when forced by the non-market-based government/taxpayer-sponsored military?) mentioned in the last bit of the article:

(...) US powerbrokers know that bullying China involves significant risks for themselves and the world. Even so, they have decided to pursue this new policy and force a confrontation. Why? Why would they embark on a strategy so fraught with danger?

The answer is: They don’t see any way around it. They’ve tried containment and it hasn’t worked.  China’s growing like crazy and its regional influence threatens to leave the US on the outside looking in. Carter even admitted as much in a recent speech he gave at the McCain Institute at Arizona State University. He said: “We already see countries in the region trying to carve up these markets…forging many separate trade agreements in recent years, some based on pressure and special arrangements…. Agreements that…..leave us on the sidelines.  That risks America’s access to these growing markets. We must all decide if we are going to let that happen.  If we’re going to help boost our exports and our economy…and cement our influence and leadership in the fastest-growing region in the world; or if, instead, we’re going to take ourselves out of the game.”

See? It’s all about markets. It’s all about money. Here’s more from Carter’s speech:  (The) ” Asia-Pacific…is the defining region for our nation’s future”… “Half of humanity will live there by 2050″ and that “more than half of the global middle class and its accompanying consumption will come from that region.”….”There are already more than 525 million middle class consumers in Asia, and we expect there to be 3.2 billion in the region by 2030…President Obama and I want to ensure that… businesses can successfully compete for all these potential customers. ….Over the next century, no region will matter more… for American prosperity.”

This is why the Obama administration is making a general nuisance of itself in the South China Sea. It’s so the big US mega-corporations will have new customers for their IPADs and toaster ovens.

For that, they are willing to risk a nuclear war.

Of course, they have. The whole thing is a joke. Just like Carter’s claim that he’s defending the lofty principal of “freedom of navigation” is a joke. Not true ...

From the Long Beach Independent, March 27, 1967.  There is a box at the bottom of the page to read the actual text that I copied.  There is one story of a local rescue of a capsized boat that I also remember.  Was a nice trip down memory lane.  Anyway ...

(See People in the News, Page A-2) Combined News Services Two Newport Beach schoolteachers and their Australian friend sailed back to Hong Kong Sunday and said they had been captured by Chinese Communists and held prisoner for a week. William Hanke, 33, his wife Carol, 29, and the Australian, Garry Sharp, 20, had left Hong Kong harbor St. Patrick's Day in the sloop Adventure in an attempt to sail to the United States. Hanke is a geography and history teacher at Harbor High School in Newport Beach. His wife teaches English at the same school. ON MARCH 18, the Hankes said, their craft was captured by two armed junks in international waters, about 30 miles off the Red China mainland. The junks were part of a huge fishing fleet and the 30-foot Adventure was sandwiched between the two vessels. Five or six men, Hanke said, scrambled aboard the Adventure. Some carried submachine guns, some rifles, and one youth among them clutched hand grenades. "At first," Hanke said, "we thought they were Filipino pirates. But then we noticed one of them was wearing a small Mao Tse-tung badge. The Chinese searched the sloop and then forced the three captives to sail it to Ping Hoi, a large fishing port on the northeast of Hong Kong. THE HANKES and the Australian were forced to stay on board the Adventure four straight days and nights, and were allowed on shore the fifth day only for three hours of exercise. The Americans said no one attempted to harm them. They were given fresh water, vegetables, meat, fish, eggs and fruit. An English-speaking Communist official went on hoard the sloop the second day. After examining passports, he told the three that the Chinese had "no hatred" for American citizens, but were "completely against the policies of the American government." * * * B ON SATURDAY, the two Americans and the Aussie were told they were free to leave. "A junk towed us out beyond the 12-mile limit and we sailed for Hong Kong," Hanke said. The Adventure was damaged slightly when the two junks sandwiched it, and is undergoing repairs. The Californians and Sharp will undertake their transpacific voyage again as soon as the craft is seaworthy.

Carol Hanke was my 10th grade English teacher as well as my wife's.  We got the story first hand.  I had her the immediate school year after their capture.  Patty the next year.  Her husband did teach at Harbor High (which was the actual school used in the TV show the OC ), But Carol taught at Corona del Mar HS where we went.  Both the wife and I did go to Harbor High for classes on occasion but that's another story for another time.

The problem isn't/won't be their "middle class", it will increasingly be our own stagnant/disappearing productive classes, which as your last part points out, is still needed to buy their stuff.

The middle class may end up more and more being the bureaucratic/security class needed to maintain the profitability and the order of things.

Aside from all that, there will remain (increasingly important) environmental constraints.

Right, public debt is only about 60% of total debt.  Debt by govt accounts is still owed to the beneficiaries...except for the what the Fed acquired in the last few years (over $2 trillion)...and that was essentially the free money its been printing to keep the economy afloat.  Now Europe is on that same path to the the tune of about EUR1.2 trillion.

China owes a little over $1.25t of our debt, the biggest of all foreign holders of our debt, but less than 10% and about the same as Japan.  http://www.treasury.gov/ticdata/Publish/mfh.txt
p.s., China has its own issues...unless it finds a way to grow its middle class and get them to consume more, its economy could collapse...and what happens if we stop buying all that crap they sell us?  Honestly, we dont need much of it, right?

As a side note, having experience teaching at a local public university and recognizing the need for some diversity, I was always surprised by the excessive number of foreign students we let into our schools, at the expense of local residents.  There is the historical perspective that these "best minds" from foreign worlds would stay and help the good ole USA, but from my experience in the current environment, more of these students would eventually head back home.

China‘s secret plan to topple the US as the world’s superpower

In 1995, Michael Pillsbury, an expert on China who has worked with every US president since Nixon and has, he writes, “arguably had more access to China’s military and intelligence establishment than any other Westerner,” was reading an article written by “three of China’s preeminent military experts” about “new technologies that would contribute to the defeat of the United States.”
