Tell me hands on heart that you finished Crime and Punishment in a month and I salute you. I am a huge fan of the Russian authors (and I'm a seriously speedy reader) and yet I only ever got a third of the way through The Brothers Karamazov.

Edit- is it worth giving this one a try?

it is worth it - an I'll be finished tomorrow agternoon, or so - it's a re-read for me.

Better - read Anna Karenina - I really enjoy pre-Bolshevek Russian Lit

I listened to that one on disk.  It was pretty good, though a bit predictable at the end, I thought.
I esp liked the descriptions of his convalescence in the beach house.  Semi-autobiographic, I would imagine...

Just finished "The Grapes of Wrath", which was one of the best books I've ever read. Now reading "Big Fish", by Daniel Wallace.

Well, I'm in New Zealand so it might be a bit pricey to mail. Likely Autism NZ will get it in their library at some point. I have a son who is (mildly) A.S. so I'm especially interested in the "boys growing up with AS" type books.

edit: Thanks though :-)

Yeah!  I didn't know that when I researched the book.

Finished this over the weekend. It took me a while to get through it. Chronicles two families in Sheffield from the early 70's through the present. Its a pretty dense read, to be honest it could have probably been a lot shorter. But its very character driven and I found myself caring about most of them. I'd definitely recommend it, but be warned, it could take a while to get through it.

My interest is seldom piqued by book cover posts and I'm not familiar with the author, but the subject and location of this cover struck me as possibly worth checking out. The synopses and reviews showed that the hunch was right and I ordered the novel.
