North/ Central California are getting the brunt of it.
8' feet of snow in the higher elevations.
Fill those empty reservoirs!
We're getting a chance of light showers this afternoon and evening. Whoopee!

Bomb Cyclone!  One of the lowest pressures ever recorded off the coast of WA (943 hPa). So far it's been a bust though, pretty standard winter store fare, and it mostly blew through in the afternoon. We'll see if round two is any more serious.  None of my weather sites have images that will post here, but Cliff Mass has some cool ones: https://cliffmass.blogspot.com...

middle of the night the thunderstorms woke me up and the downpour lasted, and I agree with grip, for 20 minutes.
I refused to get out of bed to see the racket.

The only reason the Yankees beat the Red Sox last night in six innings because it was raining.

I was thinking about that...5 mins of that rain would put out any fire.

We have a fish pond that historically needs some water in July/Aug from evaporation...not needed this year.  Runoff would add feet to a reservoir...alas most of our excess is in the ocean now.  Read it and weep.... NYC reservoir status   Note the July rainfall vs. avg (doesn't include yesterday).
