"...Patsy Cline was outspoken, brash and bawdy, but Opry management preferred that female cast members present themselves as demure and ladylike – preferably in full, square dance-style dresses. When Patsy Cline appeared in a lavender pantsuit and cowgirl hat, she was asked not to wear the outfit on the show again." I just listened to the whole album via that bandcamp link, and it's impressive. Too country to be successful on a BIG (top 40) scale, but good stuff. I think I'll just go ahead and buy it.

I think I'll get a couple of tracks to Don Slack at KEXP, see if the hipster-country kids take to it.

Luke doesn't play around here much/ever, except for a private party or two that I guess I should've crashed. As far as I've seen, anyway. Maybe I haven't been paying attention. There was a kickstarter event a year ago at a local hibrow place, organized by the country-style socialite wife of an attorney in town. So he's got some influential backing. Sounds good enough to get some traction nationally.

I'll confess I wasn't aware of a couple of artists, and this Luke Bell warrants further investigation.
I wasn't aware of most of them.

Paste Magazine has been plugging away at their 50 States project for some time now, and they got around to Wyoming today. It's a pretty good list they compiled. I'll confess I wasn't aware of a couple of artists, and this Luke Bell warrants further investigation.
Bet you can't make it thru the whole thing. Thanks to LaP for the wtffery.
I made it all the way through. My particular wtffery is the Dorothy Hamill haircut alongside the lady mullets. And what the hell is it about the men's zippers that makes them have to hold on to them while dancing?
