Our neighbor texted me around 1130 Friday night to tell me the power had come back on but we had already gone to our friends' and were pretty drunk by that time so we stayed the night and got home around 230 Saturday afternoon.

TIP: For those of you that are evacuating or just leaving until this is over, here is a great tip. It's called the one cup tip. You put a cup of water in your freezer. Freeze it solid and then put a quarter on top of it and leave it in your freezer. That way when you come back after you've been evacuated you can tell if your food went completely bad and just refroze or if it stayed Frozen while you were gone. If the quarter has fallen to the bottom of the cup that means all the food defrosted and you should throw it out. But if the quarter is either on the top or in the middle of the cup then your food may still be ok.

It just started pouring here so I imagine this is the beginning for us. The worst I've been through here was Charley, which was bad and this is going to be even worse. - Matthew may be a Category 4 or 5 hurricane before striking the Florida coast starting Thursday night.
- This will be the strongest Florida East Coast strike since Hurricane Andrew.
- Matthew will bring destructive hurricane conditions to eastern Florida, the Georgia coast and coastal South Carolina.
- Dangerous, life-threatening storm surge and flooding rain are also likely.

Good one Since we had a new 18-pack of eggs in the fridge, after I made breakfast this morning, I boiled the rest so if we lose power, we can eat the boiled ones and make egg salad and/or deviled eggs with other stuff in the fridge before anything goes bad.
