Steely_D wrote:I realize that if you live in San Francisco, for instance, it would be easy to say "look at all the Chinese! They must be up to something." And that's a confirmation bias based on the Chinatown right nearby, among other things.
But I live in a relatively wealthy suburb of the Bay Area, and it's unequivocal that the Russians are slowly, significantly moving in. They're working in our Macy's and other shops. They've got delis and restaurants. In Costco the other day, one of the folks selling Italian sausage walked away from the sample area, picked up his phone, and started talking in Russian.
So, I don't want to turn into Bob Dylan's Dream, looking for the Communists in the toilet bowl. ("They got away!") But I don't want to ignore that there is absolutely a migration and evolving subpopulation in my town that is Russian in nature.
And when folks start sounding paranoid about the coup... It's not chemtrails to me. It's my neighborhood. Interesting but I wasn't aware that anyone thought immigration from Russia was an issue. But then again, maybe I'm supposed to at your dry humor? Not sure, but this is the same logic as applied to Syrian refugees now and every large immigrant population ever. They might be trying to take over.20 years ago, there was a wave of Russian brides in this area, and while most were just that, more than a few were a part of a scheme to bilk and defraud their patsy sponsors here, send whatever they could home, then when legal troubles erupted, allow themselves to be deported home. Just a part of a larger system that rewards corruption. But most Russian workers are students (or older folks) on temporary visas, looking to develop their English, and willing to work long/odd hours. Their entire stay here is coordinated by companies that charge them a fee, arrange for housing, transportation, employment... we have them here in tourist areas a lot, working in Yellowstone, and in Cody at McDonald's. Overall, anyone staying in the country, I'd easily consider them to be economic refugees.

I don't know what I'm doing but obviously others do: They're uploading hundreds of shirt designs just to see what sells, do some A/B testing and just cob up the system with literally thousands of new designs each week. So Amazon's trying to sort out how best to proceed. Anyway, I have the shirt all ready to go, there, but they'll probably only open it up for me after Christmas. But I'll check every so often... I actually never got the official invite to sell via this program. I just noticed a link somewhere and followed it to the hush-hush description of the site, with a "request invitation" button. So I clicked it, and waited. A month or two later I remembered it and clicked for an invite again. Maybe 6 months later I was about to request again, but on a lark re-entered my info to log in and it let me in... so I quickly made up a shirt and they immediately sent me a "welcome" message. This is really an Amazon backwater... And thanks!

I really wanted to put this Trump shirt there because free Prime shipping etc. but Amazon's having some growing pains so nobody gets to add product for now. So it's on my site, which is fine but people don't see stuff there. The Yellowstone shirt I have on Amazon sells pretty well, for me. 10 this month! Woohoo! Guilty as charged.
