Violence, property destruction and looting is not excusable, period. That those committing these acts take advantage of the unintentional cover provided by the protesters is what it is. It is happening. The 20th Century theory of letting things run its course by letting everyone get it out of their system is not working, not that it did in the first place. This is how we got to where we are now in the case of the present violence, property destruction and looting.
It has gotten totally out of hand. In NYC for example, there is really no reason to stop anyone because those caught get released immediately because of no bail laws. No consequences exist and in reality, those arresting these people are more at legal risk than the perps the way this no bail stuff is set up.
This stuff about ANTIFA is real. They are getting more organized every time they appear. ANTIFA is mostly bored rich white kids who have been coddled and protected from consequences of their actions by their rich parents and have become amoral about what they do. They are opportunists yes, but more than that, they are thugs on call and answer the bell when it is rung. Who is ringing the bell ? Got me, but I sure would like to find out.
With things so out of control due to local governments' either inability to control their cities or the lack of desire, something has to be done to stop this stuff in its tracks ASAP. If I was Trump, given everything that has played out so far, I would threaten to put regular military troops on the street. Threatening it is one thing, doing it is another and highly unlikely. But you gotta do something to get everyone's attention and say uh oh, we have gone too far. Given nothing else was working, what's left ? That is the way I'm looking at this and Trump's threat.
People like ANTIFA doing what they are doing in the name of anti fascism are only guaranteeing a fascist type response to their violence if they persist. They are trying to drag us all down to their level so they can say, look at the fascists in operation and further their anarchistic ambitions. See we told you so, the army of the fascists is on the streets and threatening all of our's liberty and freedom. Rise up against what ? The people who are trying to defend us from the perps who started all of this stuff in the first place ?
A government's first responsibility according to my understanding, is to protect the lives and property of its citizens. Ain't no one else doing it. Trump, the big bad guy, is the only one trying. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Regardless of your political affiliation, regardless of your cultural values, regardless of what socks you wear… here are some lessons from teaching special needs kids:
Civilized behavior between kids hangs on a silken thread.
Harmony in the classroom depends upon some kind of accord, something fundamental that the kids all buy into.
When kids opt out of this accord you have lost the very thing that binds the class together.
Whether their grievance is real or just perceived doesn’t matter a rat’s arse. Both cases need addressing equally by the teacher when it comes down to it. All that matters is whether the kid buys into the fundamental accord or not.
If the kid's grievance is real, then, if you sincere about harmony in the classroom, you should rectify the grievance.
If the kid's grievance is only perceived, then the failure is one of communication and you should rectify how you all communicate.
Meeting violence with violence does neither, but merely entrenches those who opt out of the group in their belief that the class is not for them.
Sanctions are a valid tool, but they only work with the right communication. Your ultimate goal is to get the kids to internalise the rules of social cohesion.
I vote we assign Trump to teaching special needs kids for a while till he learns the tricks of the trade.
There is a lot of disturbing evidence of outside influences inciting, setting off property destruction and even supplying weaponry in the form of rocks, bricks and so forth. Not surprisingly, your political persuasion will usually indicate who one thinks is to blame, but I am here to tell you they all are. The FBI, local police, White nationalist, Black separatist and Antifa all have motivation and means for this type of behavior with the shared goal of chaos, destruction or deflection. They coordinate and travel to hot spots with the goal of using large group behavior and human nature to get the protestors or other members of the local communities to breakdown into mob mentality. These are not the protesters. We must not let them win.
If you mean coordinate with each other, I disagree
I do not. They coordinate with each others groups network, but no they are not working together.
A Denver police officer was fired on Tuesday after posting a photo online of three officers in armored tactical gear with the caption, âLetâs start a riot.â
The Instagram post by the officer, Thomas McClay, touched off angry denunciations from activists who participated in huge protests around Coloradoâs Capitol over the past five days, and prompted the police department to start an internal-affairs investigation.
Officer shot in the head in Las Vegas on life support
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) â An officer who was shot in the head near the Circus Circus casino is on life support at University Medical Center, sources confirmed to KLAS.
The source said the officer was in a fight with a suspect when someone walked up from behind and shot the officer.
This is but ONE of the many officers seriously injured or killed in these riots. Why isn't anyone here discussing that aspect, and what should be done with the culprits and enablers?
Hmm, why isn't anyone discussing the thing we are discussing?
