Followup:

FEMA employee removed from role after telling relief team to skip houses with Trump signs after Florida hurricane

“While we believe this is an isolated incident, we have taken measures to remove the employee from their role and are investigating the matter to prevent this from happening ever again. The employee who issued this guidance had no authority and was given no direction to tell teams to avoid these homes and we are reaching out to the people who may have not been reached as a result of this incident,” the spokesperson said.

doesnt seem either party wants to solve this, or at least let the other party when in leadership solve it.

The plan you mentioned included among other things, putting into formal law, allowing 5,000 unvetted and illegal border crossings per day and a pathway to citizenship for these illegal immigrants.

Once made into law, something like that will never be undone.

And the other flaw is to assume that any democrat administration would follow a specific law to begin with.  Look at Biden and tuition.

Not sure if you intended it, but essentially you've just said all Trump voters are quite likely to shoot at you (FEMA worker).  Or something.

Point taken.  Though I wouldn't entirely reverse the claim.   That court case is far from over.  Depositions and court transcripts are wonderful things.

I'm not sitting here saying Harris or Biden or Obama or anyone in the history of everything did it right. And I clearly have no idea how to stem the tide. But are these gangsters coming in through the gates? Would a wall stop them? Would attempting to stop and deport everyone coming across the southern border do anything at all to stop them? Nah.

I don't get why the gangsters are sitting in jail. I've never really thought that US Constitutional protections should apply to non-citizens. Send them back to *wherever* after getting a good retinal scan and maybe a tattoo if we know they're criminals. But I don't think the "they're taking our jobs" complaint is valid, or honest.

In case it wasn't clear ...

Grok: "top election issues for trump voters"

The top election issues for Trump voters in the 2024 election, based on available information, include:
  • The Economy: This has consistently been a primary concern, with Trump voters expressing significant interest in economic issues like inflation, job growth, and overall economic management. Donald Trump is often perceived as better at handling economic matters according to polls.
  • Immigration: Immigration remains a critical issue, with Trump's campaign focusing heavily on border security and immigration policies. His promise to secure the border and conduct mass deportations resonates with his voter base, viewing it as both a security and economic issue.
  • Crime and Law Enforcement: Concerns about crime, often linked to immigration in Trump's rhetoric, are prominent. His supporters look to him to maintain or restore what they perceive as law and order.
  • Inflation: The cost of living, particularly related to inflation and rising prices for essentials like gas and groceries, has been highlighted as a significant concern.
  • Taxes: Trump's advocacy for tax cuts, especially those benefiting businesses and the wealthy from his previous term, continues to appeal to his supporters.
  • Judicial Appointments: The protection of conservative Supreme Court justices and the potential for further conservative judicial appointments are important, especially in the context of issues like abortion rights.
  • Foreign Policy: There's a sentiment among Trump voters that he can bring peace and stability internationally, referencing his past policies like those aimed at the Middle East or his approach to conflicts like the Russia-Ukraine war.
  • Democracy and Election Integrity: While this might seem counterintuitive, there's a focus among Trump voters on what they perceive as the need to "repair the election system," often tied to concerns about election fraud, which Trump has repeatedly mentioned.

These issues reflect a combination of direct policy concerns like immigration and the economy, alongside broader themes like national security, judicial conservatism, and skepticism towards established political processes. This understanding is drawn from both formal polls and sentiments expressed on X, indicating what Trump supporters prioritize when deciding their vote.

Grok: "top election issues for kamala harris voters"

The top election issues for Kamala Harris voters, based on the information available from web searches and posts on X, include:
  1. State of Democracy - With 56% of Harris voters prioritizing this, there's a significant focus on preserving and strengthening democratic institutions, reflecting concerns about threats to democracy.
  2. Abortion Rights - This was explicitly mentioned as a top issue both in terms of voter sentiment (with figures like 21% from exit polls) and multiple times by supporters on X, emphasizing reproductive freedom and access to abortion.
  3. The Economy - Economic issues were also prominent, with voters interested in policies aimed at lowering costs, supporting the middle class, and addressing economic inequality. This includes proposals like tax credits, infrastructure plans, and tackling price-gouging.
  4. Reproductive Freedom - Beyond just abortion, this encompasses broader women's rights, highlighted in discussions around Kamala Harris's campaign promises.
  5. Climate Change - Although not as frequently mentioned as the above issues, there's an emphasis on building on the Biden-Harris administration’s climate policies.
  6. Affordable Housing and Infrastructure - Proposals like a downpayment assistance for first-time homebuyers were noted, indicating a push towards addressing housing affordability and infrastructure development.
  7. Criminal Justice Reform - Harris's background as a prosecutor and her advocacy for reforms in the criminal justice system, including bail reform and anti-recidivism initiatives, resonate with some voters.
  8. Public Health Initiatives - Support for increased funding for public health, especially post-COVID-19, was also a point of interest.
  9. Immigration - While less prominent, there's mention of a desire to fix the broken immigration system and secure borders, though this tends to be balanced with humane policies.

These issues reflect a broad coalition of concerns ranging from civil liberties to economic policies, with a strong emphasis on social justice themes like abortion rights and racial equity alongside traditional Democratic economic platforms.

Note the difference in placement of the immigration issue.

We have a similar situation in Canada.  And conservatives are even angrier about it.
