Regardless of what gadget I am streaming from, when I have it on the "My favorites" stream, every 20 minutes or so, a song starts for only a few seconds or so then goes to another song, or a song shuts off in the middle somewhere and goes to the next one. Actually, those are the same issue, just a matter of time
.
Anyone else get this? Any known fix or workaround? Thanks RPeeps

Well, at least someone picked up my rant, which I generally appreciate. I absolutely agree on the form and tone, so I really have to apologize, which I hereby do, in all earnest.
Yet, since homepages aren't really rocket-science, maybe it would be ok for anyone involved, even big Bill, if the 3d-player script would only be loaded on real need, i.e. on pages where the player is embedded, instead of loading it every time the RP homepage loads.
I keep having this issue with a hardened Firefox browser, which is my day-to-day browser. Today the RP homepage wouldn't load at all, and it stalled while loading a gstatic.com java-script. The scripts loaded vary in stalling my browser, and today the RP homepage wouldn't load at all in that browser. - Just tried Chromium to find it acts normal in comparison.

So, I'm gonna address this bloat issue, but I'm also gonna step in and act as moderator here first. I don't get to spend a lot of time in our forum, but this is the one topic I have to check for my job here at RP to try and address issues as you all find and report them. I don't have the time nor do I want to make time for insults being passed back and forth. So, take it somewhere else or better yet just don't do it in the forum at all.
As far as the Delight player script, that is a video player we use for the VR content that we were producing last year. I'm dealing with what to do with it now that it's been brought to my attention. We currently have a single blog post that is utilizing the player and we will discuss removing it to remove the issue. Give us some time to consider the issue.
As far as the feature that DID enrich the site, let's back off on the negative tone. We're a small company here providing a free service, so unecessary BS like that doesn't land well.
In your case, trust me, you don't want me to go on. I haven't even started talking to you, Beaker, since I answered one of your posts many months ago which you decided to ignore. What do fascist warmongers do in informatics? Think they have something to say? Or just project their usual smart-ass attitude to the sky?
I see interpersonal & comms skills are also some of your other strong suits. But do go on.

Oh, so you're the blind teaching me now. I get it. I studied computer science, sorry to say. The lag can't be due to proxies, nor name-servers or their cache-ing in between, trust me. It is strictly due to the assets woven into the newer RP website from all sorts of services distributed around the globe. Nuttin else, bro.
They who know call it by the name of BLOAT.
The specific line in the RP homepage source-code I was referring to is this one:
An either bloated JS script (among several ones) that "enrich this site" in the eyes of their creator but make it terribly slow to load oftentimes - or a completely unnecessary asset that is not being cached by servers but needs to be reloaded every hour.
And no, I am not:
I see interpersonal & comms skills are also some of your other strong suits. But do go on.
There's no need to slag RP because you are seeing a slow loading speed. Learn how the Internet works, and what can cause your connection to a given site to be 'slow'.

While the homepage (or blog if you wish) keeps fabulating about "the power of connectivity", the RP homepage is as slow to load as it never was before since some 2 weeks now. Me surfing from Europe. What's going on there?
Never had this, before. Seems the bloat is taking over, while the browser is trying to load some 3D assets from some cloud-space (WTF?).
Sometimes it takes up to two minutes! Who's gonna wait for a website to come on this slowly?!
No good marketing, just saying. I'm on 50-k DSL with no speed lag on other websites, only RP "wonderland".
"50-k DSL"

First of all, thank you for many years of the great music, RP is my one and only "radio" shortly since its beginnings!
Would it be possible to have new song rating added to the current 1 - 10 (and -), for example marked X or 0 or anything else suitable and called "Not my style / not to my liking". which would have two core functions:
1. It will not affect the overall song's score, as it is more down to personal preferences rather than actual qualities (or lack thereof) of the particular song.
2. And it will (perhaps in the future) offer an option to allow to auto-skip such marked songs. I personally have very few songs to skip in your great selection, but occasionally there is one or two "odd" ones per day, clashing with my "taste", so this would be much appreciated.
I recently installed the new Radio Paradise plugin for my Logitech Media Server/Squeezebox setup, and Iâm having a strange issue: the music periodically stops playing and I have to manually skip to a new track to get it going again. On further examination, it looks like the player gets stuck in a loop at the end of a track in the silent portion- it gets to the end of the track and skips back a couple of seconds and repeats indefinitely, just playing silence. Iâm playing the FLAC Interactive channel. Iâm not having this problem when playing from my own hard drive playlist. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!
