I wonder if that was the same Höfner bass Paul was playing 50 years ago.

That's cool. {#Sunny}My parents, bless 'em, hate all things rock. I missed the tribute - where was it aired?

Q: "I'd like to direct this question to messrs. Lennon and McCartney. In a recent article, 'Time' magazine put down Pop music. And they referred to 'Day Tripper' as being about a prostitute..."

PAUL: (nodding jokingly) "Oh yeah."

Q: "...and 'Norwegian Wood' as being about a lesbian."

PAUL: (nodding) "Oh yeah."

Q: "I just wanted to know what your intent was when you wrote it, and what your feeling is about the 'Time' magazine criticizm of the music that is being written today."

PAUL: "We were just trying to write songs about prostitutes and lesbians, that's all."

Remember all the rumors that went around about Paul McCartney being dead back in the late 60's? It was on today's date in 1969, A DJ on Detroit's WKNR radio station received a phone call telling him that if you play The Beatles 'Strawberry Fields Forever' backwards, you hear John Lennon say the words "I buried Paul. " This started a worldwide rumor that Paul McCartney was dead. People then found more "clues" in just about everything The Beatles did. The first one that came to mind for me was the cover of Abbey Road when Paul was walking barefoot.

Guitarist Randy Bachman Demystifies the Opening Chord of ‘A Hard Day’s Night’
You could call it the magical mystery chord. The opening clang of the Beatles’ 1964 hit, “A Hard Day’s Night, ” is one of the most famous and distinctive sounds in rock and roll history, and yet for a long time no one could quite figure out what it was.
