Democrats lit the ‘assassination culture’ fuse — now their silence equals violence. A new report from the Network Contagion Research Institute found that more than half of left-leaning Americans say political violence is “acceptable” — with 55% of them seeing “some justification” for assassinating Trump....“We are at war,” Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) shouted in February, as she denounced what she called Trump’s “hostile takeover” of the government he was elected to lead. “We have to fight in the streets,” said Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.). Now, the fuse is lit — and the elected firebrands have nothing to say. Voters chose Trump, very recently and very specifically, to shake Washington up. It’s OK to protest, to loudly oppose the changes Trump was elected to make. That’s part of America’s political legacy. But “assassination culture,” as the lead author of the NCRI report calls the new spike in violent rhetoric, is not.
... Democrats don’t get a pass on it this time. They set this ball rolling; they own it. Their silence now is encouragement. You democrats are such nice people.

My definition above is what happens in the US. The shared misery part. A ruling elitist class of decision makers who maintain that rights originate with the government and thus are transient as opposed to that the people grant rights to the government based upon rules set in stone that in theory has all equal in regard to rights regardless of wealth or station. That is we are all entitled to our turn and place in line and that line jumping is not allowed. I'm sure that you will tear this thought apart as incoherent, but I'm used to it and over it.
Do remember that (and Bernie Sanders readily admits) a welfare society is dependent upon a closed system in order to function properly. Wide open borders and uncontrolled immigration are destructive to this kind of situation.

kurster: The key to success of the Nordic social democracies is that they do freemarket capitalism really, really well. Many argue that property rights are more secure in those countries than the USA. The socio-economic outcomes are outstanding to the point that it is highly unlikely the USA will ever match them.
Americans should go back to basics such as well-defined economic property rights individual and collective. The USA should stop using violence to take and steal from people outside of the USA. The USA should work on the forked tongue reputation otherwise eventually nobody will trust the USA including what once were close allies.
Americans should rethink their disrespect for data, science and expert opinion. That includes Democratic Party voters too. Otherwise both Democrats and MAGA Republicans along with others are simply in a race to see who can accelerate the hegemonic decline of the USA the fastest.

Yeah, Norway is falling apart. Happy people, good transportation, low cost healthcare, high quality of life. We should be taking over them instead of greenland, they clearly need it more. AOC and Crockett along with Bernie are dyed in the wool socialists. They are storming into the leadership vacuum and will take the party even further to the left and on the wrong side of the 80 / 20 issues. That they are socialists is what I do not like. Simple as that.
I made no comment about what you should be thinking or saying. Just a comment that your point was incorrect, but an adjacent, somewhat contrary, point has a lot of merit.
And isn't immigration your hot button? Do you really care that much about socialists? Or is this just the flavor of outrage soda you got for breakfast?

Crockett isn't storming into anything. You find an article about her and now she's "stormimg" into the Democrat leadership vacuum? Give me a break. Besides wtf do you care about the Dems anyway unless of course you are concerned that the direction that Trump is taking this country is going to result in a backlash. Yeah, I guess that must be it.

lol lol "even further to the left" like they're way out on the edge. They NEED to be further left IMO but they're so far right they can't salvage the Great Society, they can only hope to watch it decay more slowly.

You should consider the possibility that your information sources have the far left filling the void that Joe, Hunter, Kamala, and Hillary have created. It doesn't mean they are going to become the leadership of the party.
While you're here... you're awfully quiet on a day where everyone loses 5% of their portfolio value, everything we buy is about to get more expensive, and we've surrendered every advantage we had in "running the world".
I miss the good ole days when things were cheap and the dollar was strong.... you know... January.

Actually, there is a point there (just not the one that K wants to make). The response to these people shows that AOC and Crocket have cracked (or at least started to crack) the code on how to talk to people. This is what the right wing gets correct - they communicate on a level that people can hear. They speak 'straightforwardly' and say the things that resonate well. The addition threat with AOC is that she has some policy ideas that will actually help people and she seems to genuinely care about the end result being positive and helpful. That's a mix that will sell and drag the middle / disaffected votes away from the cruel ineffective policies of the right. THey are trying to vilify her before she can get traction, because if she gets traction people will realize what a sham they have been following on the right.
