I have no need to tear this apart, you've done it all for me.  You say you want things decided by merit, but you also say you 'want your turn' because 'you've waited in line'.  You're mad at an elitist class making 'arbitrary' decisions but you are fine with an uneducated cabal making decisions based on a loyalty pledge. And then there is the 'rules based order' - dude, really? If you want to be taken seriously (dubious), you'll have to try a little bit. 

Norway as well as Sweden and Denmark, those Scandinavian countries usually held up to promote the success of Socialism, are all Monarchies.  And all have relatively small, stable and homogenous populations making their Social Welfare states manageable.  Unique to them and not at all applicable to countries such as the US.  My definition above is what happens in the US. The shared misery part.  A ruling elitist class of decision makers who maintain that rights originate with the government and thus are transient as opposed to that the people grant rights to the government based upon rules set in stone that in theory has all equal in regard to rights regardless of wealth or station.  That is we are all entitled to our turn and place in line and that line jumping is not allowed.  I'm sure that you will tear this thought apart as incoherent, but I'm used to it and over it.

Do remember that (and Bernie Sanders readily admits) a welfare society is dependent upon a closed system in order to function properly.  Wide open borders and uncontrolled immigration are destructive to this kind of situation.

AOC and Crockett along with Bernie are dyed in the wool socialists.  They are storming into the leadership vacuum and will take the party even further to the left and on the wrong side of the 80 / 20 issues.  That they are socialists is what I do not like.  Simple as that.
