There was a band last winter or this spring opening for someone up in Billings. I was curious so hit the google and they're from Casper.

My friends in faraway places always want me to clue them into cool country sounds from a real country state... and I usually got nothin' for 'em. But it's getting better.

I know I've shared Luke Bell before and this video's hokey but it's a solid song; I hope someone big picks it up and gets Luke some wiggle room, financially.

I honestly don't know what's keeping Luke from breaking big.

We've got some legitimately good acts around here right now. Hagen in the Grainbox, Steve Frame and his Western Rebels (I seriously couldn't stand this dude years ago, but relentless gigging has improved the quality a LOT), Zach Schommer, Wreckards, Caroline's Way...I'm probably forgetting several, but yeah. BIG improvements in the last few years.

They opened up 5 years ago. The difference in the live music scene here is pretty striking since then. Lots of kids starting up bands now. Nice for an old fart like me who likes going to shows.

Let's see if I can get this to work. This is the studio where my youngest takes sax lessons. She used to do piano, too, but too many irons in the fire right now for that. Anyhoo, she's not visible here, but you can hear her saxophone in a couple of spots. This place is producing an incredible number of really talented musicians. <iframe style="border: none; overflow: hidden;" src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FVibesFinePerformingArtsCasper%2Fvideos%2F501732290290065%2F&show_text=0&xx=560" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" xx="560" yy="315"></iframe><br class="hljs javascript">

1974 California Jam - Gregg Lake - Still You Turn Me On

I've attended a zillion shows of the years. One of the best was the 1974 California Jam with headliners Emerson Lake & Palmer.

Here's Gregg Lake solo, an unforgettable moment that brought the house down.

Father John Misty gets a lot of airtime at KEXP. This is from 2012, there's a solo thing that's newer too.

One of my favorite songs ever! Surprised you didn't notice it already, I have posted like 3 or 4 different versions here and over at the other place. People are probably getting tired of me posting it! lol

I'd known the song for a while but hadn't thought of it until I heard it a couple of days ago in a bar.  I thought it may have been posted here somewhere but I couldn't find it in any of the usual threads.  Yeah, it's a great tune.  He has an interesting style - like a cross between Harry Nilsson and Roy Orbison.
