I was listening to Hannity yesterday talking with Cruz and it was remarkable that he was saying the exact same things as the Dems were saying during the Obama period: Congress is full of losers who can't get anything done.
It was interesting to hear him side with Trump as a positive influence, since he's such a loser Prez. But there is finally a suggestion of the obvious point - that the GOP is basically dead and just refuses to admit it.
But freakin' Hannity was even on board with: we have the Presidency, all of Congress, and SCOTUS and we couldn't get Obamacare repealed or any other major legislation. Cruz agreed and said that if they can't get tax reform passed they have every right to be embarrassed. (Didn't say "voted out of office" but should've.)
So what we're seeing is the conservative opinion folks getting fed up with their own. The Dems should (but probably aren't) be organizing strategy to come out like gangbusters for the midterms. Of course, they'll shoot themselves in the foot by hinging everything on old, uninspiring people like Warren and Sanders and Pelosi. They need to understand that their time will soon pass and we need fresh inspiring people who are fiscally responsible, eloquent, and socially aware (without seeming to pander).
Holding my breath, waiting....
One, I am stunned anyone actually listens to Hannity and to RP. And I honestly think Trump's whole new goal is to bring up his approval rating and damn the accomplishments or non-accomplishments that fall out.

Even if the republican party is basically dead, it doesn't mean you won't be stuck with a bunch of zombies for a long time.
First a debt ceiling deal, now a DACA deal with democrats...Don seems to be pivoting to the left.
Congressman Steve King of Iowa tweeted at the president that, if the latest reports are true, "Trump base is blown up, destroyed, irreparable, and disillusioned beyond repair. No promise is credible."
One of Mr Trump's most fervent supporters, Ann Coulter, tweeted: "At this point, who DOESN'T want Trump impeached?"
Breitbart, the website run by Mr Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon, ran the headline, "Amnesty Don" and accused the president of "a full-fledged cave".

Goddam dropbox f'd up their "public" options so now I have to do it the old fashioned way. I don't want to. It's a commemorative Dinner plate with Trump's photo. On the back it says "Plate May Poison Food"

The picture alone would do the trick. But at least you have a wide selection:

It seems you don't belong here! You should probably sign in. Check out our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home.

Thanks for the white liberal guilt excuse that would explain me away.
You forget where I'm from. There's a whole boatload of my hs classmates that feel much the same as I do. And a few who don't, but most of them do. If the OC is a backwater, then you're a hic, too.
Oh wait, you've managed to sweep all those OCR's* under the rug and taken the county over and made it a better place.
* orange county republicans ...
Edit: oh, wait, it was a backwater back then ... cows in the field by the jr hs. and can you imagine no traffic lights on PCH between the Highlands and the other side of Emerald Bay in Laguna ? And no buildings in between other than The Shake Shack and the trailer park at El Morro. I rode the Greyhound down PCH back and forth to Laguna, we didn't have any city buses back then. Ya, it was a backwater ... til the easterners arrived ...
ooh, ooh ... I just remembered when Nixon stayed a few days down in the Shores at his brother's place (whose kid went to Corona, the wife dated him in hs) when he was running for prez in the summer of 68. I had my first run in with the Secret Service at 15 when they stopped me walking back from the Cove up the hill on the way home. They asked me what I was doing around "here". I said "I live here, who the fuck are you ?".
So maybe we weren't really a backwater back then ...
must be the meds ... but it was fun to go down memory lane and remind me of where I came from and how it shaped my mind and many others. I bet you think we burned crosses down at the cove at night instead of driftwood and old tires.
Nope, I am very different than where I live. OC is republicanville and while I understand that political views can sometimes be a product of where you live and grew up, it doesn't have to be. My mind was not made up by those that surround me nor the moral majority in OC. Unlike most in OC I am a humanitarian. I do like the way you tried to shift what I said and divert the topic to a more pleasant time in your life that I can identify with. This is exactly why I think you are far too smart and clever to be really believing the bs that you post most of the time and choose to believe that you MUST simply do it for the entertainment factor. I will be waiting when you agree that you made a shit choice at the polls, not matter the reason. Like Fallon said.........its like wallpapering the bathroom with Star Wars wallpaper. Sooner or later you will look at it and say......WTF was I thinking and tear it down.
Back when Rt 66 was still Rt 66, it was a cardinal rule that you did not drive on it through Ok at 2 am when the bars closed. One of the most dangerous places on the planet to drive back in the day.
Pennsylvania is pretty strange, too. Beer by the case only for starters and only at authorized distributors, Single bottles can be purchased over the counter in bars to take home. Or it used to be that way, been awhile.
I have some friends from PA who told me that the alcohol laws are not as confusing as they used to be, but I haven't bought carry-out alcohol in PA in about 30 years anyhow. In New York you would want to buy beer by the case or kegs at a distributor because it was much less expensive than at a supermarket or convenience store, but all other alcohol is only sold at "liquor" stores, including wine. Liquor stores were not open on Sundays (which sucked if you needed wine for Sunday dinner), but since the early 1990s they are open on Sundays after 12 noon. In NC you can buy beer and wine in a supermarket, but liquor can only be sold in state-run ABC stores, which are not open on Sundays. A bottle of booze costs more for a bar or restaurant to buy than it would for an individual because there is an added tax for vendors. The bottles sold to bars have a special tax stamp that ALE inspectors may come around and look for on the bottles. You'd pay a large fine and possibly lose your license if you're caught with bottles that do not have the stamp.
