To whom it may concern:

Very little left for me as I voted in March and now must wait for the circus to come to town in July.  What I see at this point is that the repub establishment fears Trump but only hates Cruz.  That right there is an endorsement for Trump if you are tired of the status quo of corruption as usual.

Trump in reality only gives lip service to social issues as we have seen with the abortion gaffe.  That should be a relief to liberals who fear that Trump will undo so many social advances that have been won over the past decades.  He is the repub you don't have to fear on social issues.  He would prefer to see them as settled law and ignore the stuff.  If you want to see the establishment gravy train derailed and the economy fixed, he is the only choice for that.

Granted, he is rude and crude, but he wants what is best for Americans who still want to be Americans.  Americans in their own sovereign nation with borders and laws that mean something and protect Americans from the rest of the world that hates America, Americans and uniquely American values that we have established over several centuries of devotion to the belief that an individual has inalienable rights under a Constitution that protects the individual from the government and restrains the government from excess against the individual via mob rule.

No other candidate offers this.

To Cruz? That's a crappy choice. I'm pulling for Kasich to spoil it and keep either of those two from taking the nomination outright.

I'm actually with you on that one. I'm a registered Republican but I'm not entirely sure I will voting "Republican" when the time comes. I have never been less enthused about my options in quite some time. I just know who I don't want to see in office {#Eek}

What's the diff?  Neither has a snowball's chance against Clinton anyway, at least it is the lesser of two evils.......again.  You'd think we would get tired of this movie.

Pretty sure I posted the first link below last year, and it was somewhat prescient on the struggles Trump is currently dealing with (although Silver did not foresee how much of a boost the staggeringly uneven national media coverage would give Trump with regard to increasing his performance in GOP primaries)

He made it  through stages 1-3, and arguably stage 4, but the below seems to confirm Silver's predictions of struggle in stages 5 and 6.

There was a discussion going on in the End of Europe thread and it was said that the USA was doing a great job in assimilating our immigrants.

I've been thinking on that for awhile now ...

If we are doing such a great job, then why do we have to press 1 for English 10 or more times a day ?

Because assimilation works both ways.

Not to be a killjoy but assimilation (by it's definition) does not work both ways. It works one way. If you want to talk about "cultural sharing" or use another term to indicate how immigration influenced American culture... then that would be more appropriate.

the process of adapting or adjusting to the culture of a group or nation,or the state of being so adapted:
assimilation of immigrants into American life.
