I know all this. This was posted as humor. While intelligent, he does lack a lot of knowledge critical to the office, however.

Maybe so, but the vein of frustration with the general state of things he's tapping into is very real. Doesn't matter how shallow his credible and applicable qualifications for the office. The current office holder was hired the same way. The 4th estate has become too much of a player in this whole party. Additionally, who is it that keeps them in business? Couldn't be the electorate could it? People still have the power. If we could only move past the grievance; past the soothe me now with gratification cult of personality and entertainment ...Otherwise and so fourth...
Important thing is...Trump is very intelligent. That's what makes him dangerous. He can lose the election, or not even be his party's nominee, and still rain on this year's election. Ignore him at your peril, imo.

Despite her silence, Trump supporters around her began chanting Trump's name — as instructed by Trump campaign staff before the event in case of protests — and pointed at Hamid and Marty Rosenbluth, the man alongside her who stood up as well.
As they were escorted out, Trump supporters roared — booing the pair and shouting at them to "get out." One person shouted, "You have a bomb, you have a bomb," according to Hamid.
Please see Japanese internment during WWII. Also please see anti-Japanese propaganda and cartoon characterizations of same, meant to foment hatred of the Japanese.
Unless one actually believes, not just hopes, that we, as a race, have made quantum leaps in enlightenment in the last 73 years, then the feigned abhorrence regarding Trump's words are just that.
I'm not saying any of it is right. I'm just trying to put the harsh light of day on it.
The fact is, it no longer seems to matters as much how we got here. We're here. Someone is trying to kill us, and they are succeeding.
I think you should be able to deny service to Trump supporters.
They don't have me deal with the public very often (for a good reason). But I didn't know who this guy was until the boss recused himself also, came in the back and pointed him out...
The guy who has a semi trailer out on the highway with a Trump billboard on it was just in the office here. He saw the boss' dog (yellow labrador) and said he has a lab too and he's going to get himself a T-shirt that says "Black Labs Matter."

The Iranian government was and is a Theocracy. Definition: A theocracy ("theo-" = God, "-cracy" = government) is a government operated under divine rule, or the pretense of divine rule. In practice, this term refers to a government operated by religious authorities who claim unlimited power in the name of God or other supernatural forces. Oh and for the record, I do not support either of these positions. Just was making the point that foolish knee jerk reactions and bigotry are not the exclusive domain of the Republican party.
In 1979 Iran had the largest population of Jews in the middle east outside of Israel. Most of them were driven into exile, but as of 1979 they hadn't been.
There were about 400,000 Baha'is (another persecuted minority) in Iran at the time of the revolution.
Iran has over 300,000 Christians at present (haven't been able to find historical figures), the largest single religious minority.
All of these are/were citizens of Iran. Non of them were allowed in.
Yes, Iran's government is a theocracy. And a brutal dictatorship. So is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, whose citizens are and were welcome to visit the US. Claiming that Carter's action against Iran equates to a proposal to ban visits by Muslims is absurd.
But let's skip that for a moment and move on to a practical matter: US Customs and Immigration doesn't have any way of determining what a visitor's religion is. They aren't allowed to subject visitors to any scrutiny based on religion*.
Yes, there has been bigotry across the political spectrum in our history. Non of it justifies or excuses any further bigotry.
*This is not to say they haven't. There is an ongoing lawsuit filed in 2012 over exactly that, and I can't see any way La Migra will prevail.
& that describes the country, the government within the country is religiously based. yes
That is right and the Persians themselves are actually the most progressive citizens in the region, the distinction between Iranian citizens and their government is akin to the distinction between all Muslims and Muslim extremist.
