That was my second "large" concert IIRR in spring of 1977, and I was still 15.

First pot-smoke, first row.. (or was it second?)

My first concert was at the Miami baseball stadium in '76 to see the infamous Frampton Comes Alive Tour.  I was barely 15 and should not have been there.  But I know I loved it and all the energy.  Frampton always puts on a great show.  I tried to see him when ever he came to Dallas and he never disappointed.  I was at the show when he played the entire "Frampton Comes Alive" album and then some.  The guy at the merch table couldn't believe I was at the original '76 show - I even showed him my ID.

Frampton is back out this summer and while I now live in Gainesville, FL and nothing comes here - he is going to be in St Augustine which is only 90 minutes away. I'm hoping to see him!

January 1967, Fillmore West:
The Dead, Junior Wells’ Chicago Blues Band, and the Doors at the Fillmore Auditorium.

After that concert, I went to as many shows as I could at the Fillmore, Winterland, Avalon Ballroom, and other venues I can't remember.

It can get kind of sobering when I read pieces written by people who are "looking through their parents' old records" from the late 1970s.

More reason for Schlabby to hate U2!

Based on that song and this setlist...no wonder the place emptied.  The note at the bottom aligns with the story.

Gotta love the opener and the first Encore being the same!  It's just that good.
Note: U2 opened for a deservedly long-forgotten metal band named Barooga Bandit. Though only 150 people turned up at the 500-capacity club, their response was so enthusiastic that the band came back out for not one, but two encores. By the time Barooga takes the stage, only 40 people are in the audience (some of them being U2 and their road crew before the lads also went out front to chat with fans).

I never heard of Barooga Bandit: vaguely interesting story.
