Gene Taylor. I know him from the Blasters, but he played with a lot of acts for a lot of years. Good write-up here. Initial reports just said he froze to death. Probably not that exactly, but the Texas freeze-out certainly didn't help matters.
The new evidence comes by way of a deathbed confession by a former NYPD policeman who gave a letter to his family saying that he, the FBI and the NYPD were responsible for the assassination. His role, he claimed, was to make sure that Malcolm X’s security detail was previously arrested so that there would be no door security at the ballroom where the civil rights activist was speaking the night he was murdered.

Cause I just saw this, but was last month. Mira Furlan, who famously played Danielle Rousseau on TV’s “Lost” and Delenn on “Babylon 5,” died on Jan. 20 at the age of 65. Her manager told the New York Times that the cause of death was complications of the West Nile virus.
âSo for Colbert King to say, âRush Limbaugh, his biggest concern was Republicans should do nothing to help Obama.â Damn right. Damn right. Helping Obama hurts the country.â
â Rush Limbaugh, July 25, 2011
What had set Rush Limbaugh off? I had noted during Gordon Petersonâs âInside Washingtonâ talk show on ABC7 that anti-Obama sentiment was behind some of the difficulty in getting anything done in Washington. Referring to President Barack Obamaâs active role in ending the showdown over raising the debt ceiling, I had said that the arch-conservative radio host made âno reference to saving the country, no such reference to averting disaster with the debt ceiling. It was a question of helping or hurting Obama.â
And Limbaugh agreed wholeheartedly. After all, it was nothing new for him. As I wrote at the time, four days prior to Obamaâs inauguration, Limbaugh famously declared: âI hope he fails.â
...
If so, whatever Limbaugh won was the countryâs loss. His legacy lives on through the lives of conservative TV hosts Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham and so many others who daily and dutifully serve up the same measures of obnoxiousness that Limbaugh delivered through the microphone for decades.
Of course, that might depend upon what you think after hearing what has come out of his mouth.
Such as:
â Telling a Black caller: âTake that bone out of your nose and call me back.â
â Saying on the air: âHave you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?â
â Mocking the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People: âThe NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.â
â Commenting on professional athletes competing at the highest levels of their sport: âYou just gotta be who you are, and I think itâs time to get rid of this whole National Basketball Association. Call it the TBA, the Thug Basketball Association, and stop calling them teams. Call âem gangs.â
â Commenting on women: âFeminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of pop culture.â
â Commenting on gay people: âWhen a gay person turns his back on you, it is anything but an insult; itâs an invitation.â Limbaugh also equated the push to legalize gay marriage to a supposed âmovement to normalize pedophiliaâ on the left. âWhat has happened to gay marriage?â he said. âItâs become normal. .â.â. Donât pooh-pooh it.â
Voice of conservatism, moralistic patriot and courageous lion against liberalism? Or a demagogic and dominating ?
âWinnerâ would not be my word of choice. Letâs leave it at that.
This fuckers still dead right? That's good. Probably stinks in death as he did in life. Still dead. Deader than door nails. This dead feels so...damn good dead. @smooch
Deborah âÂÂDebbyâ Ann Orr (Barnes), age 71, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully, at home, in her sleep on August 16, 2020.
Debby was born the oldest child of Donald and Dorothea Barnes of Butler, Kentucky. After deciding to leave her hometown, Debby thought she would never find a place as beautiful as the Kentucky countryside; that is until she discovered Walton County and fell in love with the natural landscape of Northwest Florida. Debby followed her passion of art and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art from the University of West Florida.
Deborah Orr leaves behind a legacy as an extraordinary potter with her specialty being creating bowls crafted from natural elements and finishing in a high-fire kiln. Debby not only loved making her art, she loved teaching her craft to others and giving back to her community. She was a beloved schoolteacher for the Walton and Okaloosa County School District and taught private classes at her personal art studio on her property.
She is preceded in death by her father, Donald R. Barnes (1963); and mother, Dorothea G. Barnes (2016).
Debby is survived by her three sons, Ryan Orr, Evan Orr (Grace), and William Orr (Brittnie); daughter, Elizabeth Orr (Tyson); six grandchildren, Seth, Blake, Harrison, Liam, Castle, Lucy; sister, Kimberly Barnes-OâÂÂConnor; and her two dogs, Peter Fredrick, and Darla Ann.
âÂÂEverything will be okay in the end. If itâÂÂs not okay, itâÂÂs not the end.â ~ John Lennon
