I'm not sure where my fear started but I can remember being very young and terrified of birds getting close to me.

They have those scary looking feet (even the small ones), those dangerous looking beaks and they can fly - they could fly into my face.

I love to look at them (from a distance or on TV) and after the visit to my friend with the gray parrots I even considered getting one (hey it's a little bird and I'm a big fat guy) but my fear is so great the poor thing probably would have starved because I would have be too scared to get close to it (or eaten my face because it was so hungry).

I realize it is totally irrational but what can I say.

Your birds sound fantastic and you do a great service with the rescue.
