FREE Halloween Concert: Nosferatu with Organ

Sunday. Oct 29, 2023. 5:00 PM- Verizon Hall, The Kimmel Center, Philadelphia

Black and white still from the 1922 film Nosferatu.

Organist Brett Miller, a 21-year-old superstar with a one-in-a-million talent, has reconstructed and adapted Hans Erdmann's lost original score of the 1922 film classic Nosferatu for the modern organ. Enjoy the spine-chilling sound of 6,938 pipes reverberating through Verizon Hall during this FREE performance.

This looks really interesting!

Peter has aged a bit in the roughly 30 years since I last saw him...but Tony Levin (at 77) looks the same.  An amazing (and underrated) career.

This Wednesday, Peter Gabriel.  I've never seen him before (and dio last saw him when dinosaurs roamed the earth). But, of course, I was called for jury duty starting on that date (for a controversial trial that had already had a mistrial declared for jury tampering). Shouldn't interfere with attending the show and, frankly, I might not even have to go in, as they're starting the jury call today, 100 people each day, so maybe by Wednesday, I'll get a "Thanks, we're good" and will be on my way.  So Wednesday could be both a "Yay Day" and an "Oh Shite Day."

enjoy!

i'd love to go, but he isn't (as far as i know) anywhere close

I saw him last week in Seattle and the show was fantastic! It was also my first time seeing him and no disappointments garnered.

You both are gonna have a great time!

Ten songs from the new 2023 album "i/o" have already been released on Bandcamp, each one with a dark- and a bright-side mix, so that makes it 20 releases already...

Here's the title track:

Wish he was playing Red Rocks instead of Ball Arena.
Nothing from the new album on RP yet?

I had tickets to go see Rainbow Kitten Surprise (RKS) here in Portland, OR this summer and the show got cancelled due to "....health issues with a band member..." I am a huge fan and would like any more news about this. Any RKS fans out there have any insider scoop on what's going on with the band? (Which member? Drug/addiction related?) The only thing I can dig up on Google is a pretty heartfelt but opaque statement the band put out.

My sister is a lighting/production manager and sometimes she gets the inside scoop (and backstage pass for me) on what's up with bands (The Cars, Joan Jett, Metallica, dozens of others...) but no word on what's up with RKS.

Sounds like they're keeping it close to the vest for a reason. Not a bad idea no matter what, but it leaves idiots like me speculating on what it could be. But if one of them's fighting for their life, going on tour with a sub would be pretty harsh.
