Does anyone know why my iphone doesn't ring?
I checked the google and tried all the fixes I could
find but nothing works. Which is fine and I didnt
even notice for the first two years but when I was
recently stuck in the ICU for a few weeks I missed
a couple calls. So I guess I need it to work properly.
can you "factory reset" the phone?

No it won't even bother to vibrate. The screen comes on and says who's calling (if it knows) and slide to answer but I'm not always looking at my phone. When I was in the hospital, it was such a stephen king terror dump that they put the hospital phone where i couldn't reach it. If i was lucky a nurse might notice that the phone was ringing forever and come get it for me. Those sadistic, pig shit nazis. Don't have a heart attack around here. You would. not. believe. what. they. did. to. me.

If you are using it during these days, it's fine to leave it on the charger. The battery will top off and then just float charge, and it will really be using energy from the charger. It's the cycling that's bad. You don't want to take it off for a couple hours, then throw it back on when you get to your desk, then take it off for the next meeting/walk in the wilderness/stake out... Charge it up, use a decent percentage of your capacity, then charge up again.
Usually overnight charging is the best solution for most people.

Battery guy here. Lithium Ion batteries (the flavor found in your phones) are really great tech. They don't care about being deep cycled (although you should avoid taking them all the way to zero - I recommend 15-25% as a floor). They do care about the number of cycles though. It is overall better to let them discharge deeper (down to say 30%) and then recharge, than to discharge to 80% and then charge back to 100% 3-4 times (power use isn't linear, so one drop of 70% isn't equal to two drops of 35%).
There are also a lot of other variables including discharge rate, temperature recharge rate, and manufacturing variances. A difference in battery health of 10% between two phones that have seen similar use really isn't surprising at all.

If not keep those old paper maps handy. like sfw mentions below, i think they are backward compatible i have the 11pro max and it charges just fine on a qi (including in my ride) as for the battery comment from b321 i'm pretty sure the batteries won't take more than the max charge that they are designed for maybe someone who knows can weigh in and confirm

Yes they work, but i recall hearing from one an apple store employees not to use an old charger as it can cause the batter to fade quicker?

It's true that wireless saves possible wear and tear on the port, but I've read several stories about permanent battery health issues. I noted below that my family picked up 4 iPhone 12's last year (we got them 1/2 off, and we all needed upgrades). I have a daughter who is wireless, and I have a daughter who is "plugged in". A few weeks ago, we looked at the remaining max capacity on the batteries. The wireless one was at 86%. The wired one was at 95%. They both use their phones a lot more than I do...and I would say similar to each other. If I had to guess...the wired one uses her phone a bit more.
I'm almost always plugged in, and my max capacity is 98% after one year. The few times I used the wireless disk (because it was there), I noted a bit of heat in the back of the phone. I can't believe that's a good thing.
I suspect there's also the cycling... I know the batteries aren't supposed to have a "memory" or require a deep discharge or whatever they call it, but wired, I tend to run my battery down to under 10% before I get too nervous. But if you have the wireless puck and are in the habit of storing the phone on it every night, you might be charging it from 80% and never getting down to 0% very often/ever.
