More casual waves can be had at a couple of points South and North within a few miles.  This time of year also brings the whales in close to shore, so if you are out paddling keep an eye out for passing traffic. 

And when I say close, I mean really close:


Sweet. I grew up in SoCal and wipe outs are 2nd nature to me. 
Being dragged along the sea bottom was actually fun for us.

This is the best time of year (November - March), 80ish in they day high 60s overnight, storm season has past, so it's almost always just pleasant. Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, Brazil, South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya.  The beaches off Peru and Chile are stunning but a tad cooler and windier.

had to get rid of my soda stream; something about the bubbles it imparted didn't taste right... wanted my mojitos to be bubbly, but store-bought soda water just tastes better.

I normally put Campari in my G&T to give it a boost, but this stuff with the angostura bark does something good. I made some tonic syrup a few years ago, still have some cinchona bark so I should make more, but I made a double batch before and it went moldy really fast so that was disappointing. But you can make it super strong then... 


SodaStream has a whole line of syrups, sugar free too. I make ginger ale and tonic all the time. They’ve also got some sugar free flavor drops (fruit flavors) that are nice.
