Removed the old Sears 13â CRT TV with the separate digital converter in the unused bedroom aka Moms and previously mine. Yes I know I said CRT. And Yes I still have a 19â Panasonic CRT with a digital converter in my bedroom which will get a 27â upgrade soon.
Since I replaced my older Samsung monitor with a 27â ViewSonic Graphics one, I mounted my unused 23â Samsung TV/Monitor to a full-motion TV wall mount. Got a great deal on the mount on our Tax Free weekend for $17. Now I got to find a couple of auxiliary speakers or a small footprint sound bar without spending a lot of money. And Iâll add a Roku Streaming Stick+ when they come up on sale this Fall.
Did a lot of searches on the internet and the quality of these speakers are just horrible. Iâve got an old MMS203 Philips compact 3-piece multimedia audio 2.1 speaker set that has an unbelievable sound to them for the small compact size. Two miniature satellite speakers feature 2 x 2.5" 6 watt + 20 watts RMS mid to high-range driver and a compact powerful subwoofer. Clean sound with no distortion when I crank up my favorite songs on RP and they are around 25 years old.
They donât make anything like them now without spending a crap load of money with lesser sound and a larger footprint. Iâm looking at the Pebble V2 or V3 with 2 speakers that people give it a good sound rating and will be much better that the stock 2 watt TV speakers.
So I've never been interested one iota in seeing Marathon Man but in looking for this picture, I learned that the screenplay is by William Goldman (Princess Bride).
DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE! It is fantastic BUT you want instead to first read the novel by William Goldman.
Like the Princess Bride, the movie is only a small portion of the fantastic written word.
Also in that category, Magic by William Goldman.
Note, he also wrote the screenplay for All the President's Men.
And there's his fantastic non-fiction Adventures in the Screen Trade. He tells the story of this movie: Upon being asked by his co-star how a previous scene had gone, one in which Hoffmannâs character had supposedly stayed up for three days, Hoffmann admitted that he too had not slept for 72 hours to achieve emotional verisimilitude. âMy dear boy,â replied Olivier smoothly, âwhy donât you just try acting? It's so much easier.â
I'm an unabashed Goldman fanatic, as you might've surmised.
In fact, my first music cassette of my own music was titled "Here Come the King Bats" as a reference to Goldman (read Princess Bride) and Eno (Here Come the Warm Jets).

Well enjoy that, itâs is always a highlight going there. Unfortunately that might be the only enjoyment of the day.
Are you passing through the area or are you a native to the Boston area. Cause if you areâ¦
Grilled sweet Italian sausage and zucchini while listening to RP.

walked out. What a waste of time. I definitely won't be keeping the next appointment. Plus, I had to get up real early for the freakin appointment!
Caught the cheep matinee of NOPE at the nearby Dubly Atmos theater.
Better Half⢠and I both gave it a 4 out of 5. Doesn't remake the cinema experience in our lifetime - but pretty, interesting, and worth a viewing. Don't read spoilers before you go. Part of the fun is the ride of WTF?
