No I'm fine.
I appreciate the thought.
I feel guilty. I was so busy with work, I couldn't get one out to Buzz when he was sick.
I have your excellent themed disc to listen to yet.
I'm still busy catching up with stuff around the house and on my truck because of the work load I have.

Thanks.
Like I said... it's just a bad cold really.
I tested myself about a week and a half ago... negative.  This started two weeks ago. Tested today... positive.
I've been working my brains out for a steady three months or more. 10+ hour days.
Now I tell all the people that wanted me yesterday I have COVID... they said they would wait for me to get better.

I needed a break.

FOOL FOR THE CITY COVER JPEG CROPPED

FOOL FOR THE CITY INSERT JPEG CROPPED

Songs about cities or life in the city in general.

A mix inspired by the Foghat song, Fool For The City along with the album cover only because it really works quite well for the subject .

And a little latitude with Christmas Wrapping, which is about Christmas in the city, kinda, sorta.  It is also my favorite Christmas song and that I just scored the EP a couple of months ago.  I like the song enough to listen to it anytime.  The Waitresses were a local act out of Akron way back when.  Forgot that part until recently but that explains why it got so much airplay here over the years.

A note about the BOC and Joe Walsh songs.  This is the original version of In The City from The Warriors movie soundtrack.  It starts off with the subway train coming to a stop and the BOC song, Morning Final (the final morning edition of a newspaper) ends with a subway train coming to a stop.  I swear that they both use the same sound effect and I have been wanting to put the two together for a very long time, so I did.

SAHB is The Sensational Alex Harvey Band.

I hope it was a pleasant, listenable little ditty.  Hopefully I'll have another one for next Christmas.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all !

{#Cheers}

I have to admit, I didn't pickup on the theme till I read your list. It is a very clever theme for sure, you still got the touch Kurt!
My fav's
Foghat, I've always dug this band and this song in particular. Great use of the cover art BTW
Panic in Detroit - my all time favorite Bowie track from my fav album of his.
I was puzzled by the combo BOC/Joe Walsh, forgot it was in Warriors...too far back to remember I guess. Both are top notch in the Miser book.
I like when you give us Cleveland themed songs... Go Indians (oops sorry, GUARDIANS!)
A deep CCR track, who knew? Not me, I thought they only had hits. Nice to hear something new to me.
Of all the great Doors songs, and there are many, LA Woman is the most "complete" of theirs. So many good things going on in this, never tire of it despite it's overplay.
X-mas wrapping - I was actually thinking you were doing a X-mas theme when I first popped the disc in (no peeking) so when a holiday song showed up at the end I was surprised. Good choice!

Thanks for chipping in with a December mix, I'm looking forward to your next one already. Cheers to a happy and healthy 2022

Thanks.  SAHB or The Sensational Alex Harvey Band was out of Glasgow, Scotland that only really lasted a few years in the early / mid 70's.  Little known but as the wiki article states (click on some of the names, very interesting and WMMS was one of those brave FM stations) was huge here in Cleveland and regionally via the old Agora Nightclub circuit.  Ton's of fun and get down nasty at times.  Punk meets Glam meets Cabaret meets Vaudeville with Firesign Theatre type stuff tossed in would be one way to describe them.  Most of the material would be too risqué or more politically incorrect for airplay on terradio today.  Gang Bang would be one song.  I had a hard time finding the albums when I finally got around to buying them.  My copies are imports from England I bought back then.  One of those bands that got lot's of airplay here and everyone else had so there was no need at the time to own my own copies.  There was nothing on CD until only about the past 15 or so years.  Faith Healer is a truly great song that I may have used once back in the early days when we had pods so not everyone got to hear it.  Worth poking around on Youtube for some listening.

Not a fan, fan of all of BOC but there are some great songs that have a certain texture and silliness to them.  This is from Agents Of Fortune, the only BOC album I can want to listen to from beginning to end. Saw them around 20 years ago in a real small dinner theatre venue in Akron.  A real hoot.

Thanks.  Porterville just might be my favorite CCR song, Green River and The Midnight Special notwithstanding.  It is one of those long forgotten tracks that have haunted me for decades and has been an earworm riff forever, "I don't care".  I didn't remember where it came from until I pulled out their first album a few years ago to rip.  It is CCR.  Now that it is back in the forefront of my memory, I do listen to it often.  It still takes me back to when I first heard it.  Moody, melodic and hooky.  I also know Porterville from growing up out there.  It is one of "those kinds of towns" with a long and sordid history.

The hardest part for me being in this club is writing the reviews.
Finding the time to give my opinion is hard to get. Then, I worry if I can come across in a cognizant manner.
The more I type... the more foolish I might become. Proverbs 17:28... Which is always attributed to Abraham Lincoln... “Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; Which is when he closes his lips, he is considered prudent” ... applies to me here.

Sorry I’m so late on this review. Another fine job Mr. Miser! I recognized a lot of your songs and artist on your playlis

Set 1...
“Foot Stomping Music” I really never got into Grand Funk much. Kind of overblown to me. But it works well in this titled set.
“Love Is Alive”- Gary Wright. I’ve heard this so many times on terrestrial radio... A good song no doubt. Not my favorite in this set.
“Sick of Myself”- Matthew Sweet. The winner in this set. Always loved him. Mostly because of his Power Poppyness.

Set 2...
“Drive Like Lightning”- Brian Setzer. When Brian had a home here in the valley, I’d see him around a lot. He had a “street rod” and I pulled up alongside of him in my truck one morning    in Palm Desert. I looked over at him and waved. He didn’t drive like lighting when we pulled away at the stoplight. He drove more like an old man.
“Radar Gun”- The Bottle Rockets. I like the Bottle Rockets. This song was their big “hit”. I like when they do their Y’ Alternative style the best.
“Crawling from the Wreckage”- Dave Edmunds. The winner here! Written by one of my favorites... Graham Parker. Dave does a better job of it though. Of course, it doesn’t hurt its Power
  Poppy too!

Set 3...
“A Million Miles”- Heart. A nice deeper than normal cut.
“You Are Here”- John Lennon. Another nice deeper than normal cut. The winner is John!
“3,000 Miles from Home”- Ian Hunter. Always liked Ian. I don’t think I’ve ever heard this one before. Thanks for letting me discover a new one.

Set 4...
“Here in Our Backyard”- Robert Ellis Orrall. Reminds me of Pedro the Lion. I’m a sucker for the flashback songs to the good old days when I was younger. Nice. This will be a steal for my
playlist. The best of this set.
“Broken”- Gregg Burns. Not bad.
“Overboard” - The Fathoms- Egad! Where’s my surfboard! Nice! Tied winner of this set.

Set 5...
“Max Tequila”- Sammy Hagar. Drinking music. Not my favorite subject.
“Cheap Tequila Runs Out” – Dawes. I like Dawes.
“Cheap Tequila”- Rick Derringer. I like Rick. I like the “country” influence here. The winner of this set. And I don’t care for tequila.

Set 6...
“Impossible Germany”- Wilco. Love Wilco. Love this song! Love the unique guitar solo! One of my favorites! Winner of this set. And the overall winner of this mix.
“Fat Old Sun”- David Gilmour. I've only heard this version played on R.Paradise. I think this Gilmour guy knows how to play a guitar. Another steal for me.
“Open Invitation” - Santana. Nice Santana cut. It’s one I’ve heard many times before.

Overall, a nice Miser Mix again.
I appreciate you time and effort to produce this mix.
Thank you.
