I desperately needed something going in my ears so I called up the Apple Music robot and it suggested Dave Edmunds and similar artists but about 2 hours in, it played a song (Hypnosis) by Mud, who I don't believe I've ever heard. Mud had a very Sweet-ish sound and sure enough, same producers on that track. It was interesting enough that I hit the google and learned that they did some covers. I dropped the needle on this somewhere about 1/3 of the way through and made it about 5 seconds if we round up.

In the vein of Dylan covers - Guns 'n' Roses version of "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" may be the worst cover I have heard (at least by a popular band).  It even surpasses vocalizations by Shatner, Nimoy, Pat Boone, etc. in terms of blatantly audacious loathesomeness.
