I remember an episode of Columbo where he solves the murder because he knew by looking at the victim's shoes that someone else had tied them. The loop went backwards from what it would if a right-handed wearer tied them themselves. Turns out the killer was Antigone.

Some people have told me I tie my shoes in a "left-handed" style, which makes no sense really, other than that I am left-handed.

I think regular shoes have feet in them before getting tied, at least every time I've seen it.
