I know this is an ancient thread but we've noticed some different behavior lately. "Skip" no longer skips all the way to the end of the song. It plays the last 10 seconds or so, which is super annoying when you dislike the song and don't want to listen to any of it. What changed?

Assume it's an issue in the cloud, somewhere between Amazon and Sonos.  Most skills work fine, except Flash Briefing, so maybe Sonos / Amazon have some issues to work out still?

I don't remember what the bitrate ranges are; they may be posted in that other thread.

What bitrate does RP play at on the Echo?  It sounds like it needs a boost.  I hope it's at least 128 kbps, but it would be even better at 192.  Is there anything preventing RP from using a higher bitrate on the Echo?

If you click on Learn more you go to a page which gives you some FAQs about "Alexa and Alexa Device".

Nowhere is there anything that would enable you to link to your account that I can see.

'What's playing' works with Spotify & Amazon Prime Music because the skill is playing an individual MP3 file with metadata included, which is not the case with RP. 

I have been using the skill quite a bit, but there are a few things that would help to make its use easier or better:

1. Firstly, how do you link the skill to your RP account? I can't find any details about this anywhere - there certainly isn't anything in the Alex app.

2. Please fix the Stop meaning Pause issue - I can't seem to get the skill to do anything but pause the stream.

3. It would be helpful to get a list of the commands available in the skill. Is PSD implemented yet? 

4. Getting Alexa to tell me what is playing when listening to RP is a bit tortuous - you seem to have to say "Alexa, ask Radio Paradise to tell me what is playing". Surely when a skill is in use it must be possible to simply say "Alexa, tell me what is playing". I don't know anything about the capabilities of skills, but when Spotify is playing you can ask this and get the right result - is it not the case that requests are passed to the skill that is in use first before they are processed by the basic Alexa engine (or whatever else you call it)?

Otherwise the RP skill is awesome and I use it a lot...

We'll see if we can correct that.  I agree — "stop" should mean "stop", not do the same thing as "pause".   

Whenever I say "Alexa stop" the app shows that the stream is paused. Is there a way to have the stream actually stop and not just pause?

Well it's now available in the UK and I have enabled it. It works fine, but all the app entry and alexa.amazon.co.uk give regarding commands is the following:

"Alexa play Radio Paradise"

It's obvious from your post that there's more commands available, but what they are is a mystery. Could you possibly list all of them out here as a reference? In particular, I have no idea how to link the skill to my RP account, and there are no instructions in the Alexa app - just what I listed above.

One final point, and this is not in any way a complaint, in the list of interactions with Alexa in the app, all other interactions have an icon with them. When I used to use TuneIn to listed to RP, it showed a large RP icon. But the RP skill interactions do not have any icon with them. It's not something that I am at all bothered about, but I just thought it might be a useful observation.
