Just discovered this gem, an obvious labor of love!  I can’t believe that I lived not far away from Paradise after growing up there and still having family connections there and never heard of this service that feels like it was built with me in mind!  A collection of music that feels like exactly what I would play if I could name all of these amazing artists — even the ones I’ve never heard of have had me floored from the moment that I discovered it yesterday.

…feeling discontent with the same-old same-old auto-generated playlists on other services and wanting more music discovery I started looking around and stumbled across a comment on a ycombinator thread that mentioned RP.  For some reason I have the vague inkling that I’ve heard of it before, but I guess it never stuck.

As I explore the service I just can’t get over how amazing it is with such a small, but obviously dedicated team — one who has clearly poured their hearts and souls into it.  The forums and community, the fact that William and family are actively participating in the discussions, the blog posts, the per-song discussion threads, the artwork that isn’t just random pretty picture but thematically relevant to the song being played, the high quality Roku and phone apps, the nuanced rating systems… every little detail has been given a level of attention that even the billion dollar corporations don’t come close to, and it’s all free — well, I couldn’t have that… in less than an hour I knew that I wanted to contribute to keeping this going!

I’ve already heard so much amazing music that I’ve never heard, I feel like I’ve been sheltered my whole life and I’ve just walked out into the sunshine for the first time ever!  My only complaint is that it took me over 20 years to find you!
