"Curious George" was just a little bit too hard for him to follow, and Big Bird always frightened him. Forget about documentaries, science programs, nature programs, arts & culture programming - too many big words for him. He blamed it on the "biased" news coverage with non-existent - or at best - circumstantial, observational "evidence". News and public affairs are about 10% of PBS broadcasting.
And he's cost the taxpayers about $25M to play golf at courses he owns, since taking office.

I thought about this a lot last night as I was listening to the show, I'm trying now to put it into words. The truth of the matter is, I think, that News&Notes is a show that presents an African American perspective on news / events / politics etc. (not that there is only one African American perspective,) I dont think that the show is necessarily meant for me to opine on, as much as a view into a an experience that is not my own. I see the show as something for which I get to be a "fly on the wall" as oposed to being an interactive participant in it's contents. I'm not black, so I can't opine on what the experience of black people might be. I wonder if that makes sense.

1. Highligh the word dirt.

3. Paste the web address in the box that says "link URL. "
4. Click on the green "Insert" box in the lower left corner.
Done.
To "unlink" your link, highlight the linked text and click on the "Unlink" icon. The one that looks like a broken chain link. I put this out there because I know you aren't the only one who needs to know.

I've always been a supporter of NPR and PRI and all those non-profit news orgs. I listen to them constantly.
But I was happy to hear that NPR is dropping News and Notes. I've hated that show for a long time (I can't tell you what I call it in my head).
The arrogant stance which the moderators of that show take and their assumption that theirs is the only accurate or viable political opinion really frosts my shorts. They'll not be missed by me.
Now, I know that NPR is going through hard times, but so are we all. Time to pull in our horns and ride out the storm. Perhaps something good will come of this.
Perhaps news with a spiritually open and non-territorially biased bent could come to the fore.

fanx. immunna favorite this. I vow to use links from this date forward NOW SIGN THE FRIGGIN PETITION. This is an AWESOME news show that highlights issues that face African Americans. It's one of my favorite shows on NPR and it going away says A LOT about programming.
