X has been blowing legacy media into the dead weeds of irrelevance, by breaking news they report hours later.  And X continues to do so.

I'm not a real Biden supporter, tho he has accomplished some good works during his term. He is too old to continue. The alternative, however, is unthinkable. I'll vote for a bowl of cold chili before I vote for Drumph.

By Saturday night, the terms “Deep State” and “antifa” were among the top trending topics across X, formerly known as Twitter. (...)

Musk took to X to formally endorse former president Donald Trump’s candidacy after the shooting Saturday, as did billionaire hedge fund owner Bill Ackman, a longtime supporter of Democratic candidates who has been critical of President Biden. Members of Musk’s inner circle, including venture capitalists David Sacks and Shaun Maguire, have thrown their weight behind Trump in recent months, but Musk appeared to hold out. (...)

In a post viewed by nearly 70 million users, Musk described the Secret Service’s actions as “incompetence or it was deliberate” and called on agency leaders to resign.

After Ackman issued his endorsement, Musk then reposted his message, as did Maguire, a venture capitalist with Sequoia Capital and friend of Musk, who praised “people that are willing to change their minds as new data comes in.”

Maguire later posted — without providing evidence — that the shooter “will almost certainly be discovered to be a member” of the left-wing group antifa.

So...Biden is a dictator. Except when he's a doddering old man. And weak compared to Trump. But he's still a dictator.

Because...he's pushing electric cars and stoves. Even though there's no law or mandate saying you have to buy only electric cars and stoves. Even though you can APPLY for federal rebates for either product IF YOU WANT TO SAVE SOME OF YOUR MONEY.

Kurt, if you're just going to parrot a career opportunist like JD Vance, at least put some thought into it.

Trump was the one who started "lock her/him up." Trump was the one who laughed about Nancy Pelosi's wife being hit on the head with a hammer.

Didn't Trump re-tweet the picture on the back of a pickup trunk of Joe Biden, gagged and hogtied?

And Trump was the guy who incited a mob to storm the Capitol Building on January 6 and did nothing for three hours but watch the chaos and violence on TV. Hell he wanted to go to the Capitol and join in.

Trump's been pushing for political violence and disruption ever since he went into politics. He's been bitching about rigged elections and rigged parties for ages. He's all about retribution.

Take an actual look at Project 2025 and Agenda 47. They're not about an expansion or strengthening of democracy, they're about the establishment of dictatorship.

BTW: Reports are coming out that Trump was hit by broken glass from a teleprompter and not by a bullet.

Agreed. We don't have enough information to draw full conclusions. I'm not getting the impression that the Secret Service did a terribly good job, though. The eyewitness video from BBC that thisbody posted makes you wonder how closely they were monitoring the situation, given that everyday people could see the shooter on the roof. And letting Trump pop his head up for a fist pump when SS likely didn't know how many shooters were around or whether the scene was secured—not SOP for sure.

@Kurt: So you're OK with Trump's plans to cut Medicare and Social Security? Hope you're not into pr0n because Project 2025 aims to outlaw it. Read up: there's a lot of stuff that may shock you. For all the GOP talks about individual freedom, Project 2025 and Agenda have specific plans to invade and control people's lives.

You can yell all you want about trivial crap but Trump's policies will bring real pain into YOUR world if they go into place. If you hate inflation under Biden, Trump's plans for deporting illegal immigrants and putting a 10% tariff on almost all imported goods will have significant inflationary impacts.

Sorry if you're annoyed/scared by reality.

Secret Service would never have allowed this nonsense. He would have already been gone from the stage by this point. Pure theater.

From those pictures, I agree. Because since he had his head turned to his right, the bullet would've come from behind him (viewer's right, where people began looking for/at the shooter) and struck his ear.

The blood is coming from the top of his ear, which isn't missing and doesn't appear to have a hole in it.

Perhaps the ear was abruptly pushed forward as the bullet hit it from behind, and that tore the pinna (outer ear) up at the top, but there's obviously no missing piece of the ear or visible bullet hole, and it only affects the upper portion, with absolutely nothing near the opening or the lower portion.

Again, a shot that hits the pinna but doesn't seem to involve the scalp (VERY vascular and you'd see blood running down the back of his neck - there is zero) seems so incredibly...convenient. (Edit: Beaker hasn't got much to add except he wants the word to be "fortunate" for his own reasons. Otherwise, he's isn't refuting this.)

Important: I am in no way forgetting that people were killed and severely injured in this. Just like I'm not forgetting that the J6 insurrection likewise ended up with significant injuries and death. In fact - the idea that this results in such horrible, despicable consequences makes it all the more important that we don't take anything at face value. Teasing it apart and making sure it's completely understood is mandatory and, ultimately, for the good of America.

Dismissing everything offhandedly and with insults, a la Beaker, is taking the easy road. Later, we may get evidence that these first conjectures are wrong - and that's how investigations work. It's OK to have a theory and then rethink things as you get more data.
