nice

saw the ojays minus eddie levert
he caught covid in june and is recovering (we hope)
the stand in was great, however it wasn't quite the same

overall very enjoyable evening
and yes, the love train kept on rollin'

Saw the last of the summer shows last night. Katheen Edwards played to a smaller crowd than Soul Asyum the previous Friday, *way* smaller! She and her band put on a great show, even though the humidity and old guitars were making tuning inneresting.

Speaking of Soul Asylum, they were...erm...LOUD! Enjoyable and I knew one song  . I have not seen that many people at the South Park stage, it was packed. Micheal Franti was a victim of too much driving and lack of youth. 

Delvon Lamarr was at the Fur Peace that Saturday and the 4+ drive home took it out of both our sails.  That show was a great experience, with Jorma coming out for a couple of jams. The trio played one long set, which was nice. They certainly are having fun and the stage interplay between members, especially Jimmy and Delvon, was enjoyable to watch. We found it hard to leave the meet and greet . Jimmy James, the guitar player, kept telling me, when we went to leave,  "No, no, wait, I want to hear what you have to say."  We did manage to leave the 3rd time.  

Next up is Clay Parker & Jodi James w/ Ordinary Elephant, Oct 1, at the Fur Peace. I downloaded the Ordinary Elephant album last night and listened during the ride home. Clay and Jodi are similar, so I'll grab the tickets.

Then Chris Smither on Oct 29, with Jack and Jorma opening, also at the Fur Peace. It'll be he 4th time for us to see Chris.

Which, if you have the opportunity, the Fur Peace Ranch is a great venue for shows.

It truly is - and note that I didn't say their music *is* miserable.  I seem to recall local philosopher HairFarmer saying "Never apologize for what you like" - and I amend that to add "...or what you don't."

Maybe, maybe not. These are happening at seven different venues across the four nights.  We'll be at the Mohawk, so as far as I can tell, we'll *definitely* get GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR (headlining) and The Legendary Pink Dots - and probably some local openers. This really isn't the same kind of music festival as ACL Festival, where it's all at one location across the dates.  Oh, and you can have JAMC - their music makes me miserable, and that's something I typically try to avoid.  The world is miserable enough without intentionally exposing myself to more of it.  Yes, yes, I know - I am simply NOT one of the cool kids.

Justine's mom's estate planning attorney committed malpractice as far as I can tell, and never actually got the paperwork filed with the courthouse. There's a sticky note on page umpteen of Kay's copy that says "initial/date/file" and that is the extent of the delivery that the attorney gave an 80-year-old stroke victim. So the estate has to go before a judge, who may agree that probate isn't required, but anyway it's all in that guy's hands and it will be at least a few weeks. So Justine's going to drive to Druid Labs NW, I'm going to drive to Druid Labs NW, and we'll post photos. Eventually.
