The vet just called a little earlier â€¦ it is cancer, and probably a secondary cancer, spread from somewhere else. There’s a remote chance it could be a fungal infection, but based on the location etc that’s unlikely. So, I’m going to keep her comfortable and be intentional about her “end of life.” No invasive tests or treatments. Going to keep giving her the pain meds we already have, and can increase the dosage, if it seems to be helping, which it's not really, so far. Her appetite and all are still good, so there's that.

The nice thing about pets is their 'end of life' wishes are lots of love from their humans. That is something you are obviously very good at giving. My prayers for your both.

So sorry to see this , E. Looks like you have her care well in hand, good on you, my friend.  Take good care of yourself as well. Sending you both vibes of peace and love.

Sorry to hear, my heart goes out to you. I lost my kitty, Sweetness, to cancer around this time last year. I adopted her at age 2 & she was 15 when she passed.  She took good care of me over the years.

So sorry. We just went through that with our little Cass. I'm still pretty broken hearted, but I feel good about letting her go without a lot of the 'hanging on' efforts that don't add anything more than a couple of low quality months.  It's hard as hell, but you're doing the right thing.
