I just Googled these guys in the hopes that i might catch them on tour...

I'm sad to report that Willie Royal, violinist extraordinaire, died on Christmas morning 2017. He was 62 and had Alzheimer's. Tragic.

These guys were responsible for the single most romantic evening of my life. See story below from 5 years ago. 

I will say it again; it's worth owning all these guys albums. Their music is beautiful and timeless.

Awesome musicians!  Over the years, they've played quite a lot in San Miguel, and Lobo often sits in with other groups here in town.  Never get tired of listening to them.

Have you heard The Gipsy Kings' version in Spanish? It's really great. Briefly used in "The Big Lebowski." When I first heard it, I couldn't associate it with the Eagles until the singer said "Hotel California" in English. Wow, can he yell.

Not even close... sorry but this has nothing to do with Paco de Lucía. I would define this as chill out soft music with gypsy influences and maybe influences from middle-east traditional music, but is definitely not flamenco.

Had the same reaction- brought back memories of "Cat Steven's" Lady D'Arbanville from (1970?). Enjoyed this song, but always wonder if its that positive melody reference in the back of the mind that adds to the value...

Is this the Lobo who used to be around in the 70's?   Unfortunately can't remember much abouty him except he had some mellow guitar sounds goin on as well.   Either way, this is a great track.

My buddies! First saw them at the Palms Playhouse in Winters, CA, then took the family down to Puerto Vallarta to catch them perform al fresco at a New Years Eve dinner/concert/fireworks celebration (tip: they do this most every year). These guys were fantastic at Lake Tahoe several years ago. Tunes in the dunes. They were followed by Michael Hedges, who was equally stupendous. A very magical night under the stars.

I don't get it. Have you ever been to PV? I've been there over 15 times and I always find something new and rediscover things I had forgotten. Puerto Vallarta's Sister City is Santa Barbara - I see many similarities. It has many problems but the people are some of the friendliest I've ever met.
