Baby woke up
Cryin' last night
Lately she been thinkin'
I don't treat her alright
Baby woke up
From cryin' in her sleep
I listened to her restless sound
She didn't get to sleep too deep
Baby woke up

Had a hard time fallin' outta my bed this morning
Didn't get no sleep
I been sittin' here thinkin'
You don't care about me

Baby woke up
Wrestlin' with her angels
Listening to the demons say
She ain't in love with me no more

Baby woke up
Wishin' no one was home
I'm sleepin' in her bed
Out cold like a stone
Baby woke up

I had a hard time gettin' outta my bed this morning
Didn't get no sleep at all
I been sittin' here thinkin'
You don't care about me

Baby woke up
Baby woke up
Hey hey

Had a hard time fallin' outta my bed this morning
Didn't get no sleep, no sleep

Baby woke up
Baby woke up
Baby woke up

Cryin' in the night again
Baby woke up

Yes!  4am here & my coffee is kicking in. Chair dancing time. Great way to start the day.  Thanx RP!
Had to stop working to dance
Song's melody keeps threatening to break into "Milk" by Garbage.

This is a very good sound. I never heard of the group before, thanks again RP for another under the radar find!
This group is very good. Never heard of them before, thanks again RP!
Had to stop what I was doing to check this one out. Instant 8, but kicked it up to a 9. Looking forward to hearing more!
Stones:  Miss You
Alvin Lee: Bluest Blues
Billie Eilish:  Lovely
Sonia Dada: Baby Woke Up

Now that's some awesome playlist!  Thank you RP!

I've never seen the phrases "Motown soul", "funk guitar", and "Grateful Dead" in the same sentence before.

Funny...and me neither until recently when I saw that sentence twice in one day!!  Gonna +1 to 9, due to the Funkiness, not the GD'ness….LLRP!!
This band rocks! Saw them several times in the 90's and was blown away. First 2 albums are excellent start to finish. Highly recommended.
Yes, more like this, please!!

Kind of a cool motown soul with a nice funk guitar (reminds me a bit of the Grateful Dead at times!), fab vocals.

Dayum! This is why I listen to RP. Gotta get me some of this.

I always loved their bluesy lazy NO sound.  Great band out of Chi-Town.  They have some super funky rockers.

Awesome to hear SD! This is agreat and funky tune.

My fav track is "Lover" from their 1st full album.  Different and great, and holds a very important set of memories for me and the mid to late 90s.

I think I remember something about the front man having a huge trust account he used to have a band, anyone know what ever happened to them?

Daniel Pritzker - from the Hyatt hotels family.

Yes...that's right....it's slowly coming back to me.

And I'd love if someone else would try to submit "Lover (We don't treat each other no good no more)" maybe it's the bad grammar, but when I tried to submit the song it was auto-denied.  And it's a freaking great "break-up" song!

Now we're talkin.

Great Chicago-based band!

Their first album is worth checking out.

Edit - I mistakenly listed "Lover" as my favorite track from their debut; really it's "You Don't Treat Me No Good."  I tried to add to the RP list and it was rejected immediately.  I guess I'll have to go digging through my CDs and re-rip that sucker!  Great funky beat all the same.

Long Live RP!

This was a hot band for awhile. They toured, got radio play, and was on TV.

But then they disappeared. Go figure.

Um… I think the 'woke up' thing is a metaphor.  You know (or not) about those subtle realizations...

I'm just sayin'
Dumb lyrics... "Baby woke up"..."didn't get no sleep"... Who cares? Good groove musically though.
How does this only rate a 6.5 average?  Sonia Dada is such a great groove, and this is one of the few places you can still hear them in rotation.
Thank you for playing Sonia Dada!
super smooooth!  outstanding
LIKE!
please play more dada!?!
Sounds like the love child of Frank Zappa and Sade, by way of Aretha Franklin. (Not sure I want to visualize that, having said it.)
more dada pleez
I kinda like this. Surprised at the rating.
dot wakes up. dot.
Sonia Dada Great Cd\'s, even better live. More Dada plase!
i\'ve been wondering when sonia dada would show up. now all we need is mya sharp and we\'ll have some more cool ladies in the mix!
Another choice groove on RP. Bill\'s getting a funk thing going on. Loving this track and expect it\'ll be everywhere before long. But very fresh on the first listen.
More Sonia Dada! I\'ve seen them live 3 times and I\'ve never actually heard this song. Good job!
