Sleep on the left side
Leave the right side free
Hope gets salted
As those around you leave
We're gonna let it up like India House on fire
We're gonna let it go
And let it go higher
Let it go

Sleep on the left side
Houcam is our call
We're gonna take it
That virgin fall
There's gonna be some
When we let it up
And let it breathe
And all the holes
Doused with grief
And planets up
And time to leave
No Asian fire
Will leave us dyre
Born again to Asian #lion#
There comes no telling
How it will be
What's turned to smoke
Was in our hearts
And planets up
What we have lost

Foot racing from kitchens
Down alleys through gulleys
Meeting every second hour
Never to come to terms with ?
Foot racing to Putabin Key
'cause there's too much going on
To jeer on green goddesses, local dignitaries and labor counselors
Always #in touch# by #way of# the community organ? we're about to be #orphaned#

Sleep on the left side
Keep the sword hand free
Arrrh, wuttevess gonna be is
Gone nu be
For the 7th time
WithOUT, tumbling disyre
Easy dizease
We're gonna let it known
And let it go slow, let it go

Sleep on the left side

Never really gets off the ground - kind of drones along.

Sublime didn't come on the scene until later after Bradley's death May 25th, 1996.
Sounds a bit like the Eels / E
Lovin' is what I got
I said, remember that

I think the guy who played bass on this song totally agrees with you.  He played the same two notes for an eternity.
Great segue from Suzanne Vegas 'Headshots' Bill, I was already thinking about this song before it started! The magic of a bass line!
I'm sorry, but that felt a lot longer than four minutes.

Apparently not. Still a great song!

Well, my dogs start out sleeping on the left side, but by morning I'm sleeping on the right side seam. with one foot on the floor.
Keep the sword hand free- makes sense to me :)
One of the worst Cornershop songs.
Oh I get it, my other left ....
Wacky Tracky I’m yet to clarify 🤣

This whole album is amazing. Some other gems sprinkled through their discography as well, but never seemed to reproduce an entire album of magic like this one was.

Agreed!
Puts me in mind of The Real Tuesday Weld.

Sleep on whatever side doesn't have the wet spot I say!

The original, or the chart-topping Fatboy Slim version?
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here . . .
I always liked this whole album

More than that, Brimful of Asha was quite the same song - only better.
Listening to this makes me wish for some Geggy Tah.

Still putting out albums from time to time. I got "Judy Sucks a Lemon..." (it's good) but haven't heard any of the later stuff.
I have to sleep on my right side or I won't be able to move my neck when I wake up.  Too many violent collisions on the football field.

Sleep on the left side,

Keep your sinus free.

I thought it was Paul Simon for a moment.  Like this one.
Undoubtably one of the best albums of the Nineties. Pity Cornershop were so short lived.

Loving the playlist tonight, kicking off the weekend in style!  Thanks.

I always got a soft spot for Cornershop - music plus 1
That repetitive bit drones on a bit too long...
Yea !! Cornershop !! Was JUST thinking about these lads, would I ever hear them on RP ? Of COURSE !! As usual, our captain is a wise and weathered one !!
College music flashback . . . it's been a while since I heard this one.

Wow - night & day there, eh??!!!??

I so loathe Hotel Cali - so overplayed - why Bill plays it is beyond me!!!
Wow, this takes me back to another time half a planet away...
What a great antidote to "Hotel California", which I was escaping with a press of "PSD"; this came up.
Is that a flute or a penny whistle .. maybe a sakuhachi?
Remember when they were the hottest thing?
Nice...not heard Cornershop for years.
As the song started I found myself thinking that the voice was familiar, but couldn't quite place it.

Love this track, whole album was great.  World music back in the 90s for me!

Hardly World Music - all UK born and bred!!!
5.9? What is wrong with you people! Right, everyone on the dance floor. . .
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow.
cornershop lovely people
tindahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

 beautiful
One good line doth not a good song make.
Yay! Great memories of adolescence.... terrible live though.
I have always liked this song, apparently I am in the minority!{#Lol}
I love these guys, like this song. But Bill, I'm tryin' to stay awake here! Little help!
Quinn the Eskimo?
Love this track, whole album was great.  World music back in the 90s for me!

...you beat me to it. I had same thought.

Rated it down to 3!!
blech.
Brimful of Asha pls
I can hear the ringtone 10 Meters away. And my speakers are not very loud now!
This radio station is a surprise box....just the other day I wondered what might have become of that kharma ridden band whose name I did not even remember.
What happened to these guys. They were the next big thing when this album came out.
"boring" is not on in the rating list so I'll give it a 4
Like it....bouncing along, easy, cool.

These guys were the hottest things when this song came out. What happened?
"Everyone wants a bussom for a pillow everyone wants bussom....mine is on a 45" {#Bounce}

5-year hiatus for this song? Glad I have the CD.

This song is from 1997, not from the new album.
According to Wikipedia we can expect the new album in "early 2008" {#Think}

please, MORE Cornershop!
Smoooooth!
Haven't heard these folks in years! Nice find, Bill. Y'all are a buncha grumps below. What part of Eclectic don't you understand?
I think I just went to the dark side of eclectic. This is a bizarre but toe-tapping (kinda fun too) tune with shades of cajun acordian, hip-hop and reggae music. Wonder where these guys have been hanging out?
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here...Oh, wait, he's already been...Come on without...2 thumbs down
Trippy rhythm. Not everything need be frantic, caffeinated.
n4ku and tg3k are right . . . I am so close to being asleep after that that no cup of coffee may be strong enough to help.
Can \"Brimful of Asha\" be found in the Paradise attic. Haven\'t heard it in a long while, but I seem to reacall that \"Asha\" has a bit more of an engaging sound than this song.

Is that the left side when you sleep on your stomach or the left side when you sleep on your back. Or is that the left side of your body so that your right side is facing the ceiling. I\'m soooo confused.
This is a great CD -- you should check it out.
