Whine, not wine, is the operative word here.
This will become a classic
I have to admit I was a total hater of this band but...I'm coming around.
Who died?
One trick pony.  Heard them once, well you've heard it all.
Lots of negative responses. Maybe I didn’t scroll down long enough to get the positive feed… I find the highlights of their music totally sublime. Listen to this & you want to go out & make a video/film. It is also sensual & sexy in a strange way. Yep. I love ‘em. Thanks Radio Paradise.

6,4? Conservative Americans have to go!!!
Go to their website. They sell CBD tinctures to go with the music. I look forward to my shipment.

Because the posted info was wrong. It has since been fixed.
Another song for 2020: There's so much evil on the news everyday, when I sit down to watch TV, I only want to watch romantic comedies...

There's a warp in the time space continuum? Or the track listing isn't correct?
The album information is incorrect. This is from ( )

The title of this song is  ”E-Bow".

People seem to have so much anger, that it comes out in all the wrong places. As someone said, it's ok if you don't like it, and you state that, rate that, but then stop. there, it's not perfect but it is easier on the eyes for autism  :/

worst band ever

Or maybe Sigur Rós has created a rift in the space-time continuum with their music? No, your explanation is more plausible.

I love the () album.

Iceland; land of Bjork, puffins and these guys! Very interesting stuff.
Just added this to my "Sunday Morning" playlist, which is a collection of songs that I put on when I'm sitting around relaxing, or trying to relax - music that will transport me away for a while.
Hopelandic. sad song.
I love this, puts me in a cool place. Not all will get it, but that's okay... kind of what its about.
Time to see what's on SOMA.FM this morning . . .
More bass, please
It sounds like something's wrong with my speakers.

Last played Nov. 2004? Guess it is time for an encore! ;-)
I would love this if I were comatose.

What I love about Sigur Ros is the fact that I can't understand it. ( ) doesn't even have lyrics, they have a made up language called Hopelandic, which is really just their way of saying they just make sounds to go with the music. With Agaetis Byjurn though, it doesn't even matter to me that it's Icelandic, it adds to the depth of the album, their vocals become another instrument that complements the others. I love listening to Sigur Ros to relax, it's one of the few bands that I can just put in my cd player, sit on the couch, and just mellow out. It's not for everyone I'm sure, but it certainly doesn't make it bad music.
Took me bloody forever to figure that out.... thought I was going mad. Bought the cd on recommendation by the clerk. whole cd sounds pretty much the same... maybe if I still smoked pot?

I guess I'm hearing something different than you are: I hear rhythm and melody. The fact that they aren't in-your-face obvious--danceable or hummable--and the lyrics are ones that no one understands, doesn't mean they don't exist. And as for a title--shrug--sticking a label on it doesn't really change it for me, one way or the other. Not even close to "non-music" from where I'm sitting.
Absolutely beautiful!

I think you should lose the aggression and take a time out. Having a bad day? Don't take it out on someone for disagreeing with you. Your response is a unnecessarily over the top. Take it easy, respect the messengers. Peace. -c
Frrankly, I'd rather have root canal than listen to a y more of this. CLICK
Certainly they could have come up with a name for this shit. Hey-Shit! That works!
:curtain.gif: I think this is absolutely gorgeous.

Oh Dinsdale, that's a scary statement. Clearly you don't like their music, but who dictates what "music is supposed to be"? Many of the greatest musicians were hated in their day for breaking convention. Is it you who tells us what music is supposed to be? What I find so interesting in reading through the posts is how hostile some people get regarding music they don't get. I thought that people listening to RP were supposed to be open-minded. So give it a 1 and let us know you don't like it, but just because you don't understand it, why the vitriol?

It is great really really loud and with a really really weird slide show, but these things are unneccasary. Being stoned is always unneccasary.
so...... nearly..... comatose.....
Deep. The call of the fjords.
the music may not be "for everyone"... but isnt that usually the case with truly great artists? this is an absolutely essential album, imho. even moreso is their previous album Agaetis Byrjun. this is perfect headphone music. just let yourself go...
Kind of a bringdown song. I wouldn't put it on as backgound music for a crisis hotline. Are we better off for hearing it? Who knows. Yeah, it's different: strange and pensive. But I don't think it will sound this good in 30 years, like a lot of the late 60s/early 70s nuggets that Bill usually plays. I kinda like it, but it wouldn't be on my list of desert island disks. It doesn't seem to resonate with me. Maybe I'm too old...half a hundred. But at least they get out there and put it forth for little minds like ours to discuss, so that's worth something.

Someone tell RP that there is a cat in heat loose in the studio and he's on the microphone.

Possibly, they fell into a coma before getting around to it. I'm halfway there after listening to this.
Great! Vaguely reminiscent of My Bloody Valentine...
their live show is nothing short of astounding... and i've seen literally hundreds of shows over the past 20+ years...
Nice...

I can't begin to say how much I love this band. They are so different from everything else out there. And it's so nice to hear something that's not cookie-cutter or tailored to what will "sell". And RP, play as much of them as humanly possible!!!!
Totally agree. This has really grown on me.
It all depends what you want music to do for you, and what you expect it can do. I love this music, partly because it almost has... no narrative. Like, it's pure texture and mood. But if you were looking for one, you'd sure be disappointed.
does this song ever end?

After picking this album up in a blind buy, I find the whole thing very meditative. Something really good to put in the backround.
 Edit: on and on and on...
Well, this is a love or hate judging from the comments. It took me a while to get into this album as well but I really do like it. Lots of layers...on a nice system it really shines. There's some deep bass most of you never hear on this disc too unless you have a sweet sub :) Sean Edit: oops, I'm referring to Agaetis Byrjun...

I saw their show in SD and thought they were spectacular. A great combination of visuals and music. Nicktor wrote:

Head ache inducing repetitive garbage.
This band depresses me... I tried to listen to their album but could not get through it. I guess it might be an aquired taste, b/c I know a lot of people who love this band. I might give them another chance someday
Two of the best concerts I have ever been to..
makes me want to hear pink floyds \"echoes\" i\'m thinking they might have listened to it a time or two as well....
