I know you think that I shouldn't still love you,
Or tell you that.
But if I didn't say it, well I'd still have felt it
where's the sense in that?

I promise I'm not trying to make your life harder
Or return to where we were

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I know I left too much mess and
destruction to come back again
And I caused nothing but trouble
I understand if you can't talk to me again
And if you live by the rules of "it's over"
then I'm sure that that makes sense

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

And when we meet
Which I'm sure we will
All that was there
Will be there still
I'll let it pass
And hold my tongue
And you will think
That I've moved on....

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

Dido reminds me of my trip home after 4 months travelling around India with the Mrs
in 2004. Along with a lot of Goa trance, psytrance and Prem Joshua, Dido's first 2 albums somehow made it into our constant rotation. We pretty much only listened to EDM at the time so she was a definite outlier and I only ever discovered her because of Eminem, what a strange and glorious world of music we all inherit.

She has got a great voice. It would be wrong to call it a guilty pleasure, I don't feel in the least bit guilty.

What a shame RP hasn't discovered the wonders of Prem Joshua yet!
Dido brings back some nice memories of 1999/2000.  It still felt like the 1990s right up to September 2001.
My wife and I were in a little town in the desert somewhere in California. We went to a (nearly empty) shopping centre. That was a downer, but as we turned to go, this came on the sound system. We fairly soared out the door of that mall!
I have listened to this song many times on RP, but this time I followed along with the lyrics and it watered my eyes. It helps to really listen sometimes
jeaaaa.. nice DiLdo., ups dido
Oooh, that was a slick segue, from Etta James!!!
Love this, makes me think of the movie "Love Actually", one of my favorite films.
There's a certain kind of economy in the way Dido sings. I love her restraint and her delivery, the way she kind of brushes against the hard edge of her voice sometimes. Such a pretty voice.  I've secretly loved this song since I first heard it.
Once I was very inlove and I used to listen this song for hours ... Nice moments.
One of my fav, I wish it was played more often ❤️‍🔥
I love this song, no matter how pop-cultury mainstream.
Pleasant but doesn'r linger long in the memory. Inoffensive. Mostly harmless
Such a lovely album.

National Lampoon's Bored of the Rings...the hobbits Dildo, Frito, and Sam, and their companions Moxie and Pepsi. A (very short) retelling of the LotR saga.

In which the mines of Moria become a basketball milieu so the protagonists can be attacked by a "ballhog".  Good stuff.
like her music but Etta James is a tough act to follow!
8 -> 9!!!
Lovely DIDO!!!!
Beautiful voice....
Thank you RP!!!!
Seems like a bit of a left turn song for RP but that's what makes them RP! Good song!

I’m glad she goes by Dido. Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong Is a quite a mouthful.
I remember hearing a friend explain that they were on a cruise vacation one summer...and they said there was a constant piping of music going on in various areas of the ship...this song came on and the unfortunate nature of the chorus lyrics created an uncanny irony.

You sure it's not Dildo?  I'm thinking it's Dildo...

You're forgetting Frodo, Guido and Vito. Regardless, she possesses the white flag that in the end will bind them.
I will always remember trying to trade some CD's in at the local record store.  They gladly took my AMG Bi^%# Better Have My Money, but didn't know who Dido was and refused it

I gotta bump this one because it made me laugh out loud....

I was wondering the same thing.  I liked her stuff, but haven't heard anything recently.

this was actually her second album. I hope she hasn't given up her career and that she will reappear some day soon. I love her voice  !!!
Dido Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong.  Belter of a name.

Whatever happened to her? Seemed like this was her breakout album but she hasn't been able to come close to regaining the attention she had with this album.

Always liked her voice.

She has released 3 great albums since her 1999 debut, this one being off her sophomore effort.  I do think she's more popular in England than here though.  If you ever get the chance to see her live, do not pass it up, she is also a fantastic live performer!

This is a nice, pretty, well crafted and well sung light-pop song. I like it, regardless of how overplayed it is on the radio.
I've always thought this girl is always singing the same song in exactly the same way, with the same intonations and on only one octave.
This girl has a voice and a sound in her songs that transport me (mentally) to nice places. Difficult to explain, but that is a quality of music.
the actor is David Boreanaz . I love the song and I love the video !  9
One thing I've wondered about this song, is who is this Allway Swilby guy she keeps going on about?

I'm always surprised by the people that let Clear Channel decide whether a song should be played here. A good song is a good song.
You're absolutely right, although I did say it is a good song just the same. And to be sure, just because Clear Channel plays it (or any other song for that matter) does not remotely disqualify it as a great song. The more I learn about Dido, the more I find myself drawn to her music. She has a lovely singing voice, and an awesome Brit accent that I could listen to all day long. Bill & Rebecca, if you're tuning in here, I'd actually like to retract any negative implication my initial comment may have implied. I'd actually love to hear White Flag as often as you care to play it. I'd also love to hear Thank You, and especially All You Want.
Ugh. This may not have been a bad song to begin with, but I've heard it so many times that to be honest I don't even care anymore. Please, no more.

8O THIS got approved rather than my Ana Lovelis uploads?! *grumble grumble*
I am no Dido fan, but I really, really like this song. Her voice is very beautiful on this track.
Not sure about the song yet, but any video with David Boreanaz is cool.
